TrickyHannah Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 We had our club agm last night and one of the things passed was that you were only aloud to time 2 birds per race so that no one could win more than tow places. only because a was starting to win all 5 places when having up to 25 young birds drop together. dose any other clubs have a rule like this.

fletch Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 i know a few clubs mate i personally think its good for a club to share the results around but i think you can still clock as many as you like for the fed result no club rule can stop you clocking in birds in for fed result
THE FIFER Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 personally think its wrong,i wouldn't like to get a place knowing someone else had birds in before me its not racing is it,dont know how this could work if you had ETS,
Guest IB Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 My club has a similar rule - you can time as many as you want, but only first 5 count for the club result. All birds timed count for the Fed result.
JohnQuinn Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I can see why they would put a limit on the prizes one loft can win, but the Doo should still get credit for its position. jmo
Guest mick bowler Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Why are those that work the hardest always penalised the most, as are the successful.
WulDon Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 if a fancier in your club is winning first five or six positions and you dont like it, get better doos!!!
billt Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 If someone tried to give me a card for 3rd place when the winner had more come together, I'm afraid I'd tell them what to do with it
clockman Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 if a fancier in your club is winning first five or six positions and you dont like it, get better doos!!! When do you want the rings,
TrickyHannah Posted January 9, 2011 Author Report Posted January 9, 2011 if a fancier in your club is winning first five or six positions and you dont like it, get better doos!!! [/ Its me who's doing the winning.
yeboah Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 We have a gentleman's agreement in our club your first three count but as many as you like for fed result ,we have done this for more years than i can remember and works perfectly well, just passed at our agm only the winner receives prize money in each race
Guest homestead Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 the same rule applies in our club. All birds clocked fly for fed honours but only 2 birds for the club which gives false results.
THE FIFER Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 My club has a similar rule - you can time as many as you want, but only first 5 count for the club result. All birds timed count for the Fed result. dont see how that can be right, if someon takes the first 6 places vel, 1140,1141,1142,1143,1144,1145, so his 1145 doesn,t count but counts for a fed place, but the person taking his 6th place club on 1146 would be beating his bird in the club but cant in the fed because its club velocities the fed go by ?????
WulDon Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 if a fancier in your club is winning first five or six positions and you dont like it, get better doos!!! [/ Its me who's doing the winning. just on about fanciers in general mate, who adopt these rules coz they dont like getting tanked every week! keep up the good racing, they will have you down to one position next year, lol
Guest spin cycle Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 i proposed this at our agm the year after i won my clubs english avs...i won those avs by only clocking 2 birds but my motion was defeated. however we do have a 'gentlemens agreement' not to clock more than 2 unless its 250 mile plus when 'if you can get them...good luck to you' funny how its mentioned that 'those that do all the work get penalised the most' ...does this mean work at the club???? my club needs all the workers/help it can get and if that means sharing the cards out a bit then so much the better.. IMO if it means loosing a fed card on a race less than 250 its still worth it.when i started a few 'gifted' cards helped/encouraged me. now that i'm better i don't see the attraction of filling the clock at club level...you should be aiming higher. which is the better loft A/ the one who takes every card he can 'til others start to give up or B/ the loft that can win the avs by giving points away and keeping the opposition 'on his heels'??
Tony C Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I wouldn't vote for such a thing but if that was the majority of members wishes so be it.
WulDon Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 When do you want the rings, never fail Mr.B do you, lol... got you down for a pair of 'red rockets'

WulDon Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 you offering to activate him on 17th january then?
clockman Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 you offering to activate him on 17th january then? i'v got the auction money,
WulDon Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 i'v got the auction money, that will cover a few, lol... form a syndicate!! sorry TrickyHannah kinda getting a bit 'off topic' here...
redpied1967 Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 only being allowed to clock 2 birds give a FALSE result not worth the paper written on. makes club racing a farce. isnt that for pooling\noms etc. just my opinion.

OR it gives a result that keeps people happy and keeps the club going. if you're 'good enough' to wipeout your club you should,IMO, be aiming higher. in which case club racing only serves as training and a 'mechanism' by which you can check that your birds are competitive
