Guest Gareth Rankin Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Really quite embarrassing that the English bid received just 2 votes from 22 and 1 of those were their own, some serious PR work needed, also what a waste of BRITISH tax payers money when times are so bad for the majority of working class Brits. This tells it's own story that it was doomed from day one. I'm pissed of at this moment in time that FiFa have wasted 15 million pounds of my money the brittish tax payers money on a bid that was always going to go to a developing country as has the 2022 world cup. I'm all for it going to a developing country but perhaps in the future it should be made clear from the start if the tournament is going to be awarded to the best bid or countrys that are classifid as developing also were they drink Vodka or dress like women.
sapper756 Posted December 3, 2010 Author Report Posted December 3, 2010 Andy Anson has revealed Fifa's executive committee turned their back on England's 2018 World Cup bid because of the British media. The chief executive of England's attempt to land the global showpiece was left stunned after defeat in the first round of voting when they gained a paltry two of the 22 ExCo votes, despite having been promised several more.http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0127-lipssealed.gifhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0127-lipssealed.gifhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0127-lipssealed.gif

Still better to live in a country with free speech and free press, was only thinking yesterday, some of the comments regarding David Cameron and Prince William would get you in trouble or disappeared in some countries so all is not lost, just a pity so much money was wasted

Aye Mr Blatter was quoted as saying he was sick of hearing about 1966.
Guest Owen Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Apart from the fact that the whole of FIFA is bent I am amazed at the attitude of the English media today. They were asking why everybody dislikes the English so much. The one good thing about that is the fact that they are waking up and realising that they are not all they thought they were. I find it hard to believe that they can not see how arrogant they are. When they talk about the bid they will talk about the British and the English as suits them. A good example was last Saturday when they delayed the coverage of the Wales/New Zealand rugby match so that they could show a non descript Tennis match. The pre-match events were important but the English view prevailed yet again. To me the English football suporter will always let them down as long as they think it is alright for their drunken fans to create violence and near riots in the streets. Followed by the fact the English Football Team is very poor indeed. Their performance was a disgrace in South Africa and did not deserve any sort of admiration. How can they say that the Premier League is the best in the World when they can never seem to perform on the field of play. I do not understand why they can not be humble enough to recognise why they are seen as fools from outside England. Yes, loudmouthed fools, and that especially includes the media.
