blaz Posted December 1, 2010 Author Report Posted December 1, 2010 yes she is going back along with the BB cock that was 2nd and the mealy .the mealy has been 6th in 08 and 13th in 09. i have entered 8 in to the race but if not totally happy with them i won,t send 8,the bonus about her going back is she was the least trained of all my birds.she is also in very good condision taking a 2nd in the 200 mile class at rosewell show.can,t put up to much on training and setting birds up for it on hear. as their are a few that send to it on hear that don,t let on .

billt Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 i wanted to ask would u give your pigeons a warm bath in this cold weather would it be ok for the birdsMine still use cold water outside, I break the ice and replace the water and they are in
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 I never give my birds cold water to bath in at any time of year, you image your self getting in to a cold bath and what its like then imagine getting into a nice warm bath and your mussels relaxing.... same for the birds. IMO
thomasd Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 so its ok then to give bath in these cold icey days
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 so its ok then to give bath in these cold icey days[/quote/] As long as you don't do it too late in the day/too close to darkness it shouldn't be an issue

IMOYou'll be asking me to bring my sheep in next, if it's good enough for wildlings it's good enough for my birds
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 You'll be asking me to bring my sheep in next, if it's good enough for wildlings it's good enough for my birds I went through a phase of putting out a warm bath for them.It came to an end when they decided they liked the cold puddle 6ft away better
Guest Glen Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 I use room temperature water for their winter baths, let water stand inside house overnight. We use warmwater to make our outdoor hockey rinks cause it freezes faster.
