I enjoy the sport, and also enjoy the solitude of working with my birds throughout the year.

So my question is, would you welcome a young lad to your loft on a regular basis to learn him the sport, or do you like to be left alone to your birds?

Slightly off topic I don't think I could handle a partnership, showing a youngster the ropes yes but another opinion I'm not sure about that

if a younglad or gal came to me and asked to see my birds and it was ok with the parents not got problem of them coming into my lofts to see and handle birds my neighbours kids always handleing my birds always asking about them or standing looking into my garden when there out exerciseing comeing back from training and so on and always asking if ok to come into my back yard to see them also ive helped new starters out get started same as bought bird for another newstarter he wonted but wont do it on any site face to face if i can see they are willing to get involved with some birds of there own i help them but i wont lye to them i tell them its not like any computer game you can turn on or off when you wont its a living thing that needs to be fed watered exercised trained and kept healthy if they still interested i help them out and try to answer what question they ask as best as i can also would take them up to see flyers that have helped me out let them see the differences from loft to loft different management systems in place different strains of birds and so on so they can get some idears of there own what they would like to put into there loft an so on i will tell them from day one same as anyone other newstarter enjoy your birds dont try to run before you can walk keep it simple enjoy the birds and if you take anythink from them score well done but main thing is try to get a team of birds that will home for you birds that will and wont to graft for them.

Sad, but in today's climate I'd need to know his or her parent's were OK with it, and knew where the kid was. Other than this, quite happy for any youngster to get interested in my pigeons.

do agree now days you dont no if someone is interested to start up or take you for a mug hence why i only let people come into my lofts i can trust you dont no who friend or fow now days and if any young lad or gal wonted to see my birds i ask there parents first and they come round with them to see birds same with my dogs when i go walking up street all local kids come over and give them a fuss most times its because they have seen the birds up flying about and heard me iver shakeing tin or blowing the whistle to call them in.
