Guest Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 I'm going back a long time now, 40+ years and fighting with me memory. No general access to internet then, and it was all word-of-mouth, the odd pigeon book and articles in pigeon weekly and monthly magazines. I've only had one case of 'one eyed cold' in a pigeon in my life and the 'remedy' then was an eyewash, boracic acid crystals? Only remembered name today and there's an article on it in Wikipaeda : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boric_acid Anybody remember this?
madmaxlofts Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 any 1 tried optrex for 1 eyed cold?

doo.racer Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 One eye cold (the left eye normally) is a sign of a more serious problem namely chlemydia (ornithosis) which you can also catch from the birds. I use an avian vet that prescribes aureomycin which is cheap but still the treatment of choise for this problem

OLDYELLOW Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 had this topic many times , you can get eye drops from chemist they supposively work , other one is if your a smoker spit in the eye , however thats well and good for one eye cold however hexamitiss ( excuse spelling ) can appear the same and a canker tablet should cure
