I'm going back a long time now, 40+ years and fighting with me memory. No general access to internet then, and it was all word-of-mouth, the odd pigeon book and articles in pigeon weekly and monthly magazines.  :)

I've only had one case of 'one eyed cold' in a pigeon in my life and the 'remedy' then was an eyewash, boracic acid crystals?  Only remembered name today and there's an article on it in Wikipaeda :

Anybody remember this?

WHATS THE BEST AND CHEAPEST CURE FOR ONE EYED COLD?

Posted

One eye cold (the left eye normally) is a sign of a more serious problem namely chlemydia (ornithosis) which you can also catch from the birds. I use an avian vet that prescribes aureomycin which is cheap but still the treatment of choise for this problem

teabag :)
or spit in the eye... and smokers spit even better.

The cause, most likely, is probably a draft ... little hole, need no bigger than a nail head that is causing a draftin it's eye
