sapper756 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Now that most of us are at the end of the 2010 season and considering our options for the forth coming 2011 season, some of us will be looking at the birds we currently have, and deciding to cut back or get rid of some birds we no longer need. Would it not be good to offer free of charge any birds that may be of use to others (not birds we know are of no use) so, please feel free to post such birds up on this thread, and hopefully someone may benefit from our offerhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif JMO,

I just put up 6 for free and looking more like 10 I will be giving. These birds are very good birds and I paid good money for one or two. I just have too many of the same blood now so cutting back as I am getting new blood in to race n cross. Ones I put up are only really for showing in my loft at the moment. But they would grace many good lofts.. Jmo
frank-123 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 not doubting your honest good intentions but are you doing a novice a favour giving him/her birds you never bred winners from ???
Roland Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Don't seem to recall many birds breeding winners being given away Frank. Like that 'Goldern Pair'. But the 'Blood' lines, and different management / systems often produce good winning birds. Indeed a cock bird - never done piddlly dip - brother to a winner, wether a hen of cock often is the better breeder.
Roland Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Indeed further I say not many sale them. Even the studs buy 'Related' birds to sale the youngsters off.
Guest homestead Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 with the losses this year some fanciers could be looking for a couple of pairs to float eggs under or use as feeders without breeding off them, a good idea Sapper saves putting them in the ground. Regards Les
