must be made of money 1 coat primer then other two coats be cheaper to put upvc cladding round loft :

I use plastic Cladding. Lasts for ever. Can look like either Brown / white etc. 5 metres x a foot. Is cheaper and easier than wood. have also made then interchangable with Air Vents to govern tempreture and wind etc. etc.

if your loft is stained or creasolted fill with cilacone let dry then get oil based stain put exterior varnish in with it then coat it up a couple of times you got the coulour and sealer at the same timeno water or damp getting through the varnish if you wanted to be certain use yacht varnish

To be honest I wouldnt entertain any varnish, not as durable as paint IMO.

Never tried it Wes, I have a painter working with me, he spends most of his time sorting out degraded varnish work (on Yachts/boats). Just doesnt last like paint.

Peter there is a garden centre that sells log cabins just off J6 on the M8 heading towards Newmains that sells Butinox, not sure of the price but worth checking out :-/
