sgwbrown Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Hello, I am looking to restart in pigeon racing, something I last enjoyed as a boy 25 years ago. Obviously things have changed/evolved over the years and I don't want to delude myself that I know anything like enough to jump straight back into it. My intention is to start with a couple of squeakers and learn to look after them properly, especially aspects such as nutrition and setting up regular routines etc before starting to get a team together. To that end I am asking if anyone in the West Mids area might have a couple of birds I could purchase. Whilst breeding isn't a priority it would be good to have something that I could potentially use in the future - probably in 2012. I live in Telford. Thanks.
rasbull Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 welcome back to the sport! I am sure someone will be able to help you out! Good Luck
cemetary Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Well come back to the sport, and a warm welcome to the site, hope someone helps you oot with some.

sgwbrown Posted August 12, 2010 Author Report Posted August 12, 2010 Thanks Rasbull, it's something I've wanted to do for quite a while. I've been reading this site for quite a while now and have been hugely impressed by the advice which is so freely given and whilst there's not always universal agreement over all issues it always reflects honest opinion - and you can't ask more than that. So whilst I'm determined to start really small (so as to keep my mistakes small) I do feel as though there is a really good support network out there to help me grow my team.

sgwbrown Posted August 12, 2010 Author Report Posted August 12, 2010 Hi Geo, I've read your questions and the answers you've got with interest as they're one's I'm really interested in - I'm thinking YBS, training, ventilation etc etc. This is what has convinced me of how little I know and how much there is to learn!!!

sgwbrown Posted August 13, 2010 Author Report Posted August 13, 2010 Hello, is anyone able to help with a couple of late bred birds preferably squeekers (so I can have them out flying in the not too distant future). I'm happy to pay and am in the West Mids. As said earlier I'm looking to use them to learn how to look after racing pigeons properly but would ultimately like to breed from and use them, probably in 2012 so while being 'great' birds isn't a priority something useful for the future would be greatly appreciated - they'll be going to a good home.
