john a tossed ma 60 yb,s a few mile fae there at 2pm asweel but didnt know that the fed had libbed there at 2 pm when i let mine go .

 

mines all arrived back just as i pulled in with the car barr one whick came half hour later

 

was a good bit of west in the wind but it was very good conditios through there and all the way home

I waited tae 5 before i went, the visibility across in to Hamilton was poor up to lunchtime so i left it to late before going, had a good toss right enough. Goes to show us we never know what hits them!

somitt must have run into them on route home as they made the correct decision to hold till 2 pm and could not have got it better all afternoon after liberation

In fact what sealed it for me was, i went to Carluke for feeding this morning at 11.30am, on ma way back a batch of about 30 were going along beside the car at Waterloo, they were getting driven into the pylons by the wind, now they were doing Forsbery Flops and all sorts but fortunately none came to grief. It was then i decided i was waiting 'til later on the day.

My memory is rubbish just now. A few weeks back a guy was speaking to me , he's originally from 'borders' now living in Falkirk area, he'd seen my basket of doos and it brought back memories: sorry his name escapes me but he is the son of a 'Racing Pigeon' scribe 'W' rings a bell, been writing for them for years, maybes covering the borders? The son raced a few pigeons as a boy and because they were neighbours he was always around the Hodgson loft, don't know if it was the Annan or Kirkpatrick-Fleming one, but Mr Hodgson let him time 2 of his National winners, something he said he'll never forget.
