Guest JonesyBhoy Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 im just hearing that even tho the race was cancelled last week it wont be re - scheduled.. bit harsh.. fair enough for the east boys who are pretty much at the first race point with training, but what about the west boys.. over looked again..??
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Exactly Tam..!! We've paid up for the race, so why should we not get it..?? Also i cant remember a representative from our club been asked to a Fed meeting to dicuss the race been cancelled completly.. can you..??
Guest stb- Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 IF YOU GO BYE WEATHER FORCASTS ITS A LOT WORSE THIS WEEKEND THAN IT WAS LAST WEEK SaturDay weather Heavy Rain 16°C 61°F Max. Day Easterly strong
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted July 8, 2010 Author Report Posted July 8, 2010 Should be fine for Sunday, but i would agree no much chance Saturday. Heres hoping someone lets us know.Lack of information leads to people coming up with all sorts. No Race- To much yb sicknessNo Race- To many bad tossesNo Race- Everybody gone on HolidayNo Race- To Windy Take your pick
Fair Play Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 The unfortunate thing about the upcoming lib on Sat.is the weather report one shows heavy rain another shows rain at 11am. How the heck can we win? Would hate to lose another race with no comeback.
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 But what i want to know is WHO make the desicion that last weeks race is off all together..??? Is it written in the fed rules that if a race is cancelled the programme just moves on.. or are there people within the fed that have the power to make this desicion..??
Fair Play Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Controller/Convoyer, don't know if there is a race committee if there is don't know who they are not too worried about the rain as long as not too heavy it's the high winds that cause havoc
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Controller/Convoyer, don't know if there is a race committee if there is don't know who they are not too worried about the rain as long as not too heavy it's the high winds that cause havoc mate i 100% agree its the ybs well fair thats our number 1 concern.. and i think there right to cancel the race if they are in any doubt regarding weather.. my point is who's making these descions regarding race being cancelled altoghter.. hypothetically what if its rains and high winds till mid august.. do we just throw them in at Bishop Auckland and hope for the best..?? we could have Cockenzie this sat, next Sat..then a mid week cockenzie before Dunbar and the programme is still in sync. No cost has been lost last week, the birds weren't taken to the lib point then returned. So the Fed hasn't been hurt finacilly, we've paid for the race thru the birdage added on to our fees, so why should we not have it..??
Guest johno Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 whats it called you were texted last week re the race being cancelled. i am sure you will gbe texted this week again regarding this weeks race if need be. the race controller decides week on week whether we go / race or not given the underlying weather conditions. the decision is not made until around 1pm on a friday. if you need more info contact your club secretary. training arrangements are the same every year for the fed. five tosses with old birds and five with young birds beginning the saturday before the first race. as to loosing or re arranging a cnacelled race i am not aware of any provision for this. i would however ask people to consider this. in the event of a cancellation where do you find drivers race controllers secretaries to be on hold until the situation gets better. are drivers and conyoers meant to be on standby every day of the week. people are entitled to have holidays. most drivers convoyers families holidays are arrnged around the racing season. we cannot expect people to put their life on hold to accomodate doo racing.
Delboy Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 I cant understand cancelling such a short race as all you need is a two hour window to get birds home. The transporter should be sitting down there waiting for an opportunity early every weekend unless definite adverse weather forecast.
slim45 Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 GLASGOW FED BASKETING PUT BACK 24 HOURS DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER FOR SATURDAY
Guest Fair Play Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Sunday looks a far better day going by the weather reports (TV)with all the conflicting reports on different weather channels I think I will give them all a miss and just wait and see
