Delboy Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Do the members think that the SNFC has too many races in its programme, if so, what would the ideal race programme be ?
Guest pigeonguy147 Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 del i would like to see the snfc doing away with inland nats and only going to the channel and let the feds do the longer inland races on their own
Delboy Posted July 6, 2010 Author Report Posted July 6, 2010 del i would like to see the snfc doing away with inland nats and only going to the channel and let the feds do the longer inland races on their own I agree m8, maybe even reducing it to one inland, incorporating a yearling national in it
Delboy Posted July 6, 2010 Author Report Posted July 6, 2010 We are losing birdage for the channel races because there are too many of them. Total nonsense having two national clubs in Scotland and the birdage proves that.Lets stop the nonsense and get back to the good auld days
geordie1234 Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 as someone new in the sport im not to sure about the nationals etc can anybody send to them if they feel the birds can do it
Delboy Posted July 6, 2010 Author Report Posted July 6, 2010 as someone new in the sport im not to sure about the nationals etc can anybody send to them if they feel the birds can do it Of course you can m8
Guest pigeonguy147 Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 del as you well know the politics and infighting that goes on btween these two nat clubs and some of the feds leaves a lot to be desired so the good auld days may never be back till someone takes the top officials and makes them see that the clubs belong to the members and not people who are full of their own importance that their heads are so far up each others arses they dont see what the membership wants

JohnQuinn Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 The only way to change it is if you attend the meeting and vote in your preferred program. It is the members who decide, not the officials who are left to organise and facilitate the members wishes. Posting these types of threads only serves to discredit the club. jmo

I personally have NEVER bad mouthed any other organisation, nor have any officials of the SNFC in my presence.Personally i would love to have a reconciliation of the SNFC and SNRPC. It would in my opinion, give us all better racing with the bigger batches, which in turn Could improve returns. However this also goes back to the respective members to instruct the Officials of their own club to make attempts to either race together, or to agree on a mutual race program where they could convoy together.I will stress at this time that i am unfamiliar with BOTH sides of the original argument, so this post may upset some people who i regard as friends, and fine doomen, but if a reconciliation is going to happen someone somewhere has to get dialogue started. JMO!!!
blaz Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 as someone new in the sport im not to sure about the nationals etc can anybody send to them if they feel the birds can do it i sent birds to eastbourne last year cost £10 to join for it .loved it far better than club racing joined the s.n.f.c this year and have sent birds to 3 races .it is a grate buzz getting a bird out a national.
budgie Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Easbourne,Ypres,Reims and Nantes which would give Fed and National Minded fanciers a chance to build up a Team to compete fairly against each other .
Delboy Posted July 6, 2010 Author Report Posted July 6, 2010 Easbourne,Ypres,Reims and Nantes which would give Fed and National Minded fanciers a chance to build up a Team to compete fairly against each other . Totally agree with you Andy but maybe not in that order. Ypres, Eastbourne ( with yearling national ) Reims, Nantes

JohnQuinn Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Easbourne,Ypres,Reims and Nantes which would give Fed and National Minded fanciers a chance to build up a Team to compete fairly against each other . I like Bovingdon or Newbury for the 1st one, drop Eastbourne jmo
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 7th June - Yearling national from 300 to 350 miles 19th June - 440-460 mile race from France or Belguim10th July - Gold cup race, Distance between 480 - 520 miles (This the only race were feds can duplicate)17th July - Longest race from 600+ miles Time to get the birdage up in the Gold Cup and this program would do that especially getting rid of Eastbourne 7 days before and allow pigeons a opportunity to fly 2 channel races in the same season with the preparation that they deserve. JMO

JMO!!!One day it will come back and sadly the Politicians who caused it will no longer be with us.Reconciliation will never happen look what happened in our own Fed and its some of the same guys who also caused this friction and split.
andy Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Totally agree with you Andy but maybe not in that order. Ypres, Eastbourne ( with yearling national ) Reims, NantesDerek,Ypres yearling Nat same time 2 weeks after Eastbourne. Agree with the rest, same dates.
Delboy Posted July 6, 2010 Author Report Posted July 6, 2010 I would say you need a month between channel races to send same birds, hence Ypres first then Eastbourne. Derek,Ypres yearling Nat same time 2 weeks after Eastbourne. Agree with the rest, same dates. Interesting
blaz Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 i think they should keep both inland races as a lot of fliers have sprint middle distance birds.it gives them a chance to race at national level. i don,t think dropping any of the races is a good idea .as we only send to the races we want to send to.also both inland races will give the S.N.F.C. more profit. it would be good to see them put it in to a better transporter
budgie Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Derek,Ypres yearling Nat same time 2 weeks after Eastbourne. Agree with the rest, same dates. If we can all agree to only 4 Races its a step in the right direction with the exception of leaving the Gold Cup race to the last Friday in June as it has also been.
