REDCHEQHEN Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Remember the topic I started a week or so ago? http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/topic/37287-spoiled-seed/page__p__561303entry561303 I was sent a bag of seed 'without prejudice' - well I opened the bag of seed today - and ask the members of this forum what they think of it - it's hempseed by the way - it took me over 4 hours to sift through 2 medium tins - I found, sunflower seeds, sunflower hearts, maize, dari, mouldy seeds - lots of twigs, bits of 'rock', and probably more droppings what do you think
OLDYELLOW Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 thought i was looking at bones in a bops nest , mouldy seeds can create alot of problems to birds , i certainly wouldnt want my birds to be eating out with that much crap in it , not only that all that crap your paying for and will end up paying far more when birds arent too bright on it
Guest grizzler Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 looks like the sweepings??wouldnt give it to street scrags, let alone decent birds
sapper756 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 What ever it is.I certainly would not be gicing it to any of my birds, the bin is where it should gohttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

Guest spin cycle Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 bottom left photo...are those snail shells ?...the trash twigs are probably hemp stems...if you've stones it probably means the combine header was pretty low during harvesting and what you probably have is an 'off the combine' sample ...probably imported....the length of time in transit allowing mouldy grains to develop which should have been dried or cleaned out prior to shipping....just an educated guess though
micko and jack Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 This is the crap they sent me free of charge - after I complained about another bag and questioned their quality control Am going to trading standards - and let them sort itproper order we only have fantails not racers as you all know but jacks and nadines fantail feed like kings and queens looking at that I honestly thought it was deep floor litter I had read about
