Found Bird With Dark Blue, Orange And Green Rings

A pigeon with dark blue, orange and green rings has arrived at my house in Walton on the Naze today.

The green ring reads, I think, M54790

The bird is exhausted and has drunk a lot of the water I put out, but I am concerned cats will get it tonight and it seems reluctant or unable to move off the ground, although does not seem otherwise unwell.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Alison, if you can catch the bird and keep it in a safe place, I,m sure we will be able to contact a local fancier to collect the bird, Thank-You

"catching" it was more than easy - it walked straight into the recylcing bin I placed on its side. I have put a mesh and metal garden chair ove the top which will hopefully keep cats out. I have placed a bowl of water and a slice of bread inside.

I would be grateful if someone could come and collect it.

Don't ask, you'll only get hooked in the sport yourself, once again many thanks for your help :)
