Right guys what's the best way to build a base for a doocot I got my keys to my new house and went down to the bottom of the garden were it was all tarpallin with would chips over it so I pulled it up and found out that it was alreaddy slabbed so that's a bonus I was thinking just concrete blocks but want to make it the best I possibly can any tips ?

Just realised the house I'm buying has a close to get to the back garden and I'm not sure I'm my lofts will get through it anyone know the standard size of a close on a council built house hahahahh

where did you move to george?

and if i was you mate if you want to concentrate on inland racing for a couple of years i would fly roundabout if you have the room

as you need to weed out the poor hens you have so they must be raced

then as you move to compete at the distance fly natural system

Awrite Frank I'm just up in high Blantyre my last house was rented so finally on the ladder plus the garden is bigger and it gives me my own we section for the doos so over the moon! And yes frank I will just stick to inland for the first couple of years then over the water but we will see how it goes! How's things anyway frank u getting geared up for next season?

loft moved nest boxes in place aviary still to be built

not pairing up until march before i go to houten in holland and had the birds out today for a bath first time since September

I have just completed reading all the posts on this subject and found it most interesting and my only tuppence worth would be to advise you to leave the birds to pair up themselves and race natural. It is a far superior system than any other.

I only wish for you to avoid the many pitfalls when racing, however, methods are only a small part in being a successfull fancier.

Just like to say been following your thread from start,a great read new members should follow it as it covers a lot of topics,and gives a lot of good tips.Good look this season and interesting to see which way you are going to fly y/b.Will follow your decision like many other people,Thanks for info the other day on valanelofts with it been locked cheers
