sapper756 Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Members should be arriving back from their clubs after putting their birds away for tomorrows race. How many clubs/feds experienced a big drop in the birds being entered? and is this due to some of the previous races and losses from these? the birdage at my own club tonight was a lot lower than expected, and from listening to fanciers, it is the constant losses that is the result of this drophttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

JohnQuinn Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Newmains Pigeon club 26/314 birds which is more than we expected. Have to agree with the heavy losses theory, but with the racing getting tougher over the last 4 weeks, a lot of the doos still with us are not in need of the 4-5hr race. I know a couple of tosses will set mine right for Eastbourne, whether they'll score or no is a different matter

alex young Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 With the Classic races and National racing,it stands to reason there is going to be a drop in club birdage. My own club Burtonwood h.s.sent 158 birds to Kempsey and 52 birds to the channel, there is also the Warrington 2 bird race this weekend, don't think there has been many losses in this area.
OLDYELLOW Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 birdage drasticaly down , 2 members finished old birds already 1 didnt send , and to top it all next channel race not from race programme am totaly pissed off if they sent to ameins arras or lillers to start with it wouldnt of happened , but transporter company railroaded the clermont last two years birds had too bigger jump not enough hours on the wing and if i didnt send to last race clould of put them in this un as less distance to arras instead of the 128 mile jump they had !!!!!! we hated the programme now they've burnt , told sec i objected they should stick to programme dammage was done last race hope they see sense for next year the other fed are thinking of having no channel racing next year !!!!! but now will get burned again as yearlings will get the jump from 358 miles to 512 miles ,these feds are a fecking joke !!!!! rant over
john cumming Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 6 sent 33 birds in buckie & district well down on last year??
Guest spin cycle Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 7 sent 145 to sleaford...ran out of crates as we are only a small club ...3 sent 36 to fraserburgh
Guest IB Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 Think our club had around 145 birds away. But we are the last point of call for our Fed transporter, and its the empty spaces on that last night that tells the story: more spaces than baskets. But we work in partnership with Central Fed, and some of those empty spaces will be filled with their baskets, for joint convoying, just as we've done for last couple of weeks. So we manage the fall in birdage that always happens by this time of year.
