The site gets easier as time goes on - For those who want to learn it

 

We will continue to work hard for those members who want to frequent the site and enjoy it and provide a site they want to the best of our abilities - And as always we are open to suggestions on how to improve the software etc.

 

On a slightly different note but something someone has touched on, yes the site is quieter but there also seems a better atmosphere on here now and that is something i am really thankful for.

Sorry for it being so quiet Chris, don't really want to go over old ground but what has happened to the wheatscheaf club auction. I bidded on a lot and sent off my money and have yet to receive any confirmation from yourselve or any contact number to the donor of that lot.

basics is its own site with it own ideas we dont try to copy anyone else the change did cause some confusion as the format is slighty differnt the messenger system is class i think also with the problems on previous forum it made the choice for basics and im happy it did as the forum now is not having any problems

 

 

also remember with the backroom team that here there will be some exciting changes on the way

The only thing i would say the new site is missing is the

 

bit of fun and the crak you got on the chat threads ,

 

a bit like a mortuary now , no wee funnies on threads now .

 

And theres no Friday Disco either , the set up is not really suitable for that now anyway .

the site is a bit quieter but i think in 99% of cases the members would feel there more friendly feel about the place also its not that quite lol the content seems to be a lot more pigeon related after all it is a pigeon forum no one minds a bit of banter in chit chat section

 

 

different forums give people different options mate think i like this one with the more modern feel and also the options it gives admin to update the forum add different options while others may be going no where

I'm 62 and have absolutely no problems using the site, cant see where that came from.

Just not as easy to do Archie as whn you had the 6 wee boxes at the top with the current threads , it was easy to watch the disco as the posts were comming in and reply and also lets you watch other interesting threads at same time , we bit harder now as you cant watch em all at the same time m8, but hey getting used to set up now anyway ,just needs a bit more fun on here just now , Jmo

87 currently online just now Tommy m8, keep the faith, the site will grow, some don,t like change, others just look for excuses to knock it, however the people who stick with it will be glad they did, to be part of one of the few UPTO DATE AND MODERN sites.

I never log out m8, but always better remembering your password as sometimes you have to log in, if you click on a member to go into their profile it tells you if they are online or not and if they are what they are looking at

when u go to a differnt site or turn you computer off u are loged off mate it takes 15mins for the forum to show this some may show u online for 1 hr after u have left the forum

 

the forum software was having so many problems charity auctions could not be finished it was happinng on a regular basis there really was no other option but to change if u play around with it there should be no problems its not that far off the old software only more uptodate

I am a man of a certain age and I have not grown up with a computer attached to my fingers. Normally, I can do what I want to do but i have found this new format complicated and not as user friendly as it was before. No doubt, given time, I will get there, but I think you should have worked far harder to make things easier to understand and operate. By the way, the average age of Pigeon Fanciers today is high and the people who would like to use this Forum regularly, probably struggle.

I think it is always a good idea to keep things simple.

I'm finding the reply boxes and private messages very hard going, either that or there is something wrong with my PC, sometimes i just cannot post.

 

Same here, sometimes a blank screen and have to click around to get things to appear.

 

Also the site is a lot slower
