yes,do not give up on the most helpful and informative site there is,it is new so it does take a bit of getting used to but once you grasp it, it is not much more difficult than the last old site

to be fair to jim he's right it's not as "user friendly" as before.... and as well as that the site had being down for to long most just jumped ship to another site with all the familar names... so the site has killed its self.... very few active members was a excellent site before the new changes

have to agree i was on a lot of times all i could get was old threads YEARS old it wasnt until tonight talking to sapper on facebook he told me to use the portal maybe a header could be put up tell people LIKE ME what to do perhaps on the logon page just a thought missed you all

i think now the portal is working properly the site is more or less the same, apart from there being a more modern feel about it............i do agree that the reason so many have "jumped ship" is because of the time it took to get the site back up and running, members went elswhere and because the alternative site layout was what they were used to using they chose to stay there and not give the new look basics a chance.

 

basics is as easy to use as before if members stick to the portal (as they probably did do before......)

glad you are getting the hang of it, once you do you will find it ok and a bit more modern, still a few bits to come yet, home page etc, glad to see you back on m8,

Have struggled to adjust to the changes of the site and as for the portal page the details for me could be in bolder text and the info on the left and the right of the page brought closer together as at the present moment they look unconnected to each other.
