Guest Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Just had an e-mail from Pipa and apparently France is opening it's borders from May 15th Yahoo
TERRY JOHNSON Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Yes Hyacinth, I got the same message from pipa, good news eh, I hope defra will let us out. !
mealybar Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 I got the same email, havent been able to confirm or deny the news though. RPRA have a meeting with DEFRA 23rd May, if every other country is racing from France I cant see how they could justify not allowing us go over too; but....
Pompey Mick Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 If Mary Couglan, the Irish Minister of Agriculture, has said that Irish pigeons can race under license from England from May 17th she must have been in contact with DEFRA to make such a statement. If this is so then DEFRA can raise no objection to UK fanciers racing from other EC countries due to this relaxation of cross-border restrictions.
jimmy white Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 best news in a while,,,allways live in hope ;D ;D ;D

PIGEON_MAN Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Would have thought RPRA would have put out the good news about France opening up their borders for racing I wonder if they know yet lol THEY ARE USUALLY ON THE BALL WHEN IT COMES TO THE LATEST NEWS,PERHAPS THE REASON IS THAT IT,S JUST ANOTHER LOT OF EARSAY.
THE FIFER Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 YES IT'S TRUE, BUT BEING THE WEEK-END RPRA OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED WILL IT NOT, SO WILL GET IT ON RETURN.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I E-MAILED PETER BRYANT TODAY TO SEE IF HE COULD CONFIRM OR DENY WHAT WAS COMING FROM PIPA THE REPLY I GOT WAS THAT HE IS ON HOLIDAY AND WONT BE BACK TILL TOMORROW BUT THAT INFORMATION WAS COMING FROM FRANCE AND HE WAS KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH DEFRA ABOUT THE SITUATION AND HE WAS AWAITING WORD FROM THEM.

I GOT A REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL A SHORT TIME AGO AND BERT SAYS THERE IS COUNTRIES PLANNING TO RACE FROM FRANCE THIS WEEKEND YOU CAN NOW SEE THAT FRANCE HAS CONFIRMED THAT ANY BODY CAN RACE FROM THERE AND THAT DEFRA ARE PLANNING TO TELL PETER BRYANT THE OUTCOME OF THEIR RISK ASESSMENT MEETING TOMORROW.
