Westwater Assassin Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 First and foremost I am 100% pigeon man like most on this Website, i have views and opinions most topics and when in discussion i voice them openly. After a lot of thought and deliberation i decided to put finger to keybord and write this post. A comment was made whilst in coversation and it is that comment which has made me write this post, The person/people who said this is are not important. We were discussing the Results of the 2 nationals (SNFC Alencon & SNRPC Riems) and the comment "Its not a Real National Winner" was made !! Now this person has had "GREAT" positions in National Racing over the last few years and the point he was trying to make was that he felt even though if he won the national he knows that there were other good birds in Scotland that weren't at the race. I know that times have changed and that there are now 2 National Clubs in Scotland but looking at results sheets with regards to Members Sent, Birdage & Pools etc, i understood his point and knew where he was coming from, gone are the days of 3000-4000 pigeons being sent to the "BIG RACE" and i personally can't see any long term Future for Racing Pigeons (Not only in Scotland) but in General. Congratulations to "Both" National Winners, What are the members thoughts on this ???
Guest shadow Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Personally I think the word National is used to freely by a lot of the big clubs how can it be national when there are boundaries set out this applies to both north and south road racing.
Westwater Assassin Posted July 5, 2006 Author Report Posted July 5, 2006 Point Taken Shadow, the worrd "NATIONAL WINNER" is being used far to Freely. On this occasion i maybe should have stated "SCOTTISH" National Cheers
sapper756 Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 I can only give my opinion, but myself like the majority of my club mates did not send birds to the latest National, due to birds not in the ideal nest condition, due to the uncertaincy of whether or not getting over the chanel. and preparing birds for inland racig. This may have had some effect on the low birdage. Who knows!
kelly tom Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 i race in the midland national which is not open to everybody so is strictly speaking a classic club and not a national both scottish clubs are open to everybody and are national clubs but split through the e t s which is a great shame as when i flew in scotland in the seventies it truly was a great club
Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 hope this does'nt start the politics again :-/ :-/ :-/
Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Posted elsewhere difficult if not impossible to judge performances between the two Scottish National clubs. One things certain though, the birds that won in each club are true National winners. You can only compete against the birds that are away in your own Club. The people in your particular Club that are not away are non-competitors, and their birds stay home for various reasons, like those given in the previous post.
swilcox Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 "Its the big national next saturday" When i was a kid everybody sent there best and only there best to 1 or 2 Nationals every year and the winners would be remembered for ever as was the winning pigeon. Now we seem to have more national races than club races in England and Scotland. Stuart
swilcox Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Its true Bruno, most pigeons that are sent to nationals are pigeon that have already won. Stuart
Westwater Assassin Posted July 5, 2006 Author Report Posted July 5, 2006 Clockman don't see why politics should get started "AGAIN" on this thread. Its been good to see the views of some members so far and all have given Constructive Critisism on the subject. Keep the posts coming !!!!
Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Lets all hope one day that we in Scotland can fly again in one true National Club. You never know.....
Westwater Assassin Posted July 5, 2006 Author Report Posted July 5, 2006 AGAIN !!! i'm not wanting to start "ANY" politics , but the last post couldn't have been more correct.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 hope this does'nt start the politics again :-/ :-/ :-/ WHERES YOUR NEXT POST/QUOTE GONE TO OR WAS I SEEING THINGS
Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Lets all hope one day that we in Scotland can fly again in one true National Club. You never know..... THERE IS STILL IS BUT SOME WALKED
Henrik Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Said this before n gonna say it again the SNRPC was formed to allow 4 suspended members of the SHU to fly 500 mls. Then there are those who say they are prevented from joining the SNFC to them I say all you have to do is pay your £10 to the SHU.To this they reply why should I as I am a member of the RPRA but then I cant join the NFC BBC BICC or any other National Club affiliated to the RPRA without first joining that organisation. So in my opinion there is only one National in Scotland and thatis the SNFC my opinion to which I,m allowed.
Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 just to let you know how they broke all the shu rules and stole the transporter
Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Do you really think the SHU would welcome these people back in with open arms Henrik, dont be silly, get real. CLOCKMAN ????
Westwater Assassin Posted July 5, 2006 Author Report Posted July 5, 2006 Henrick, Clockman and Elanco , as i've said i don't want this thread to be dragged down with the same petty BULL5*!7 as before. I can totally understand your feelings but the majority of the Fancy only want to do 1 thing !!!! RACE OUR BIRDS. Cheers Lads
