Next week is the Futurity race for Jimmy's birds.

 

This week we go from Boise Idaho 250 miles to us in preparation for the Big One.

 

Had a bit of a scarry moment with 2731, landed in a new flyers loft, and he didn't put the bird out until the Tuesday not Sunday morning as I requested.  The first time she was put up she went back from whence she came.  Got her back Wednesday morning of this week.  Put her out with the rest of the hens yesterday for a loft fly, they went away for about 70 minutes and 2731 trapped back in with the rest of the girls , much to my relief

 

Will let you know Jimmy how they do from Boise tomorrow

It's a smash race unfortunately, we seem well ahead in the B race, but haven't heard from the North end.

this seems to be turning out a very difficult race indeed with very few birds back , their still waiting now,,1.30 here should be roughly 8,30 there now , linda looks to have the best returns but lets also think about the others some with very poor returns indeed so lets hope theres a few drop for all b4 nightfall in oregan

Looks like some will be done for the season after today, it's now 6.35 pmand I've had nothing for about 90 minutes.  (we're 8 hours behind UK time.)  Just another 45 minutes or so of day light left, lets hope some more come back tomorrow.  It's our 300 mile futurity next week and looks like the baskets won't be carrying many birds, as it's not fair to send them straight back to 300 after a smash 250.

:) eagerly awaiting results from red rose lofts [hyacinth]  oregon , clocks should be getting done about now,, [their 8 hours behind us , i thought it was 5 ] it was a real smash yesterday , and there were birds dropped in today , but hyacinth seems to have done well getting a 7 bird drop from 280 miles [all i know is my bird is among the 7 ]

We struck our clocks off this afternoon, I actually had 9 birds on the drop, had two before that, which I took 1st and 2nd club and Steve 4th and 5th, the 9 bird drop placed 14th to 25th and Jimmy's bird was placed 17th, it was just a trapping contest with the birds in the drop.  Steve took 2nd A race and I was 3rd our birds came in together

 

I never want to go through a race like this again (well not until next year YB's Lol)

 

Returns have been quite poor but at the end of today I'd 30 back from 44 and Steve has 9 from 13.

 

Narrows the field down somewhat for next weeks big money race, Jimmy has 2 birds going for him, hope we can send him some dollars.

yes ,,big excitement next week for me, but sorry it was such a disaster this week,,i beleive a few fanciers worse off than hyacinth ,i just hope they all get more birds back

Thanks everyone,  It's going to be a hard one this weekend after the smash last weekend.

 

Unfortunately Jimmy hasn't been good, so he had to postpone his trip out here, but I'm sure he will be with us in spirit for the race.  Both Jimmy's birds came back in good time on race day, so they will have as good a chance as any of the other birds.

[ not spirits ;D ;D] i suffer from a disabling ailment [a.s.] ankylosing spondulitis, my spine is near enough completely fused , and most joints affected,,,but,, the good news is , after many differant treatments [unsuccessfull] i hope i have hit the jackpot , i have now been put on [anti,,tnf injections twice per week in to the stomach]this is new to scotland ,not yet licenced in england,,,,,AND I FEEL THE DIFFERANCE ALLREADY,,,TO ME BRILLIANT so who knows about the near future
