Wiley Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 i reckon people will start looking into another courier i feel, i dont know how they can increase the prices because when you ring them you get put throught to a bloody phone centre in india who you cant understand what there saying and they cant understadn what your saying, and the amount of horror stories from them is unbelievable
Guest shadow Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 I ring my local depot and always get an answer was not aware they have an overseas call centre personally have always had good service, as for using a different courier there is not any just for pigeons there are several that take cage birds but they charge any thing from £40 upwards
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 they dont even have a very good service ive had birds go missing for days birds getting out,and some one even had one ran over
Guest bristolkev Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 i only use amtrack as a last resort.i use the phantom flyer (roger barr) i`ve had excellent service from him, could`nt fault the man, used him for the last 2 years.he`s a really nice bloke too. phantom flyer:01329664436 roger barr:07709913131 :)

ALF Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 I THINK AMTRAK ARE JUST RIPPING THE P**S OUT OF US PIGEON FANCIERS NOW > > > > > >
Wiley Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 ive heard alot about this phantom flyer but on requesting him to pick up a few birds they said where about in london i was from and unfortuantly wen i said east they said they were unable to deliver here
cemetary Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 I have got to agree with Alf, they are just takeing the mickey out of the pigeon fanciers, what will happen in the next 6 months, more price on the fancier, i find this crazy what they are doing. Why cant they give us a better service, and a more better price to pay, at the end of the day, how much money doo amtrax make of us per year if we have birds reported, or if we are buying birds. > > > > > > > > > > > > >
THE FIFER Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 GOING TO HURT A LOT OF SALES IF U HAVE TO ADD £30 TO WHAT U PAY,
jimmy white Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 think it will effect pigeon sales etc, £25 pounds reasonable for 4 birds , but makes the price for one rediculous ,, had 2 birds delivered today ,,,separate pick ups nearly 48 pounds ,, a bit over the score,
Guest Doostalker Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Remember in Scotland that you can use SPDS at a fixed price of £12.50 inc VAT. Up to 6 pigeon boxes count as one parcel. Their contact details are on the back of every SHU transfer form. They do not pick up south of the border though so no luck there for anyone wanting birds brought up.
jimmy white Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 unfortunately , doostalker these were :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( ;D but a good deal within scotland
HULK Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 I am in no way condoning the price increases that this company are imposing on the fanciers but if for example you take a bird that come's from Aberdeen and it has been reported at the other end of the country in Maidstone, would you be able to go yourself and pick the bird up for £30, it will only be pigeons that the fanciers think that are worthwhile sending for that will be wanting to pay this ammount and it will leave a lot of lost birds that nobody wishes to send for so what will happen to them, maybe it is time all the Federations in England, Scotland and Wales got together and came up with some sort of plan that will allow transporters to bring stray birds closer to home where they can be then released and maybe have a chance of getting back to their own loft, I know there are stray centres in operation in various parts of the country when young birds are racing but a lot of old birds go missing as well and maybe a helping hand to bring them a bit closer to home might just give them the help they need to get home on their own
Guest Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 oh for the days when interlink was around picking up our birds!...pity the post office didnt do it...charged £20 for 4 birds.....where will amtrak be then.
nutverlal Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 hi there All Why don't we all get together and setup your own collection and delivery. I mean for example: A fancier loses their pigeon any pigeon from almonds to racers, the kit is from Birmingham. A pigeon is lost in with a kit in London. The owner gets a call. Contacts a fancier in London for exampl, either by phone or via a web page setyp. They collect and deliver to the next fancier and so on until it gets in Birmingham or to a collection point. This is bit similar to the old postal and or the current stage coach service. Or even use the racing van- when they meet or collect birds for the race. What do you think - any ideas please add on - even given it a small trail run. Thanks look forward to your ideas and suggestion.
swilcox Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 I spend £400 a week with them and i dont get even a whiff of a discount :

Guest Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 :o Blimey Stu £400 a week , you could employ a man & van for that much and have him(sorry or her) doing all youre deliveries and collections ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D andy
