birds arriving from amtrak for m8 today

just wondering wot i will be going through today with amtrak,m8 has got birds coming and having them sent here..some have great delivery,s but the cardiff depot must be in freefall. :-/ :-/ : : :)

Last year i sold some birds, I waited in 3 days on the trot ,no amtrak,I ended up taking them to the Cardiff depot, a round trip of 50 mls from Merthyr. A nightmare from start to finish. Best of luck, Robert.

  Two years ago I had pigeons sent to me by Amtrak, but where I stay they get changed to a different courier at a depot down south before heading up here.

Anyway they did not arrive the next day so I phoned them.They told me the birds went on the wrong lorry and i would get them the next day.

I went down to the depot next day to pick them up myself,I arrived just before the lorry did.

I was standing behind the lorry when they opened the door to take the cages of parcels out,I could not beleave it,my pigeons were in one of the cages with parcels and the box was on its end.Six birds standing on1.5 square foot.

I wonder if the people working in these places get any training in handling live stock.

Then don't use it! Golly the prices you moan about, surely then just put the petrol in your car and go yourselve ... or find  someone that will! Plenty unemployed / pensioners would lovet the day out and be glad to do it.

Better still put it in their car and let them have the rest for going, plus a pint up the Pub. Seems to me that nigh everyone must be working 24 / 7 and can get away or over. Cod's wallop, just get on with it. And for Pete's sake stop blumming moaning and griping!

I always go to the post here and pick them up, I never wait for them to be delievered to the house.  Might be a different setup over there though.  Ed

i always rant at amtrak so this time ive got to say well done to them, fair enough they was delivered b4 12 mid  day. my m8 was happy to see them ...the birds not amtrak.lol..so well done amtrak this time!....paul :) :) :) :) :)

  A buisness couldn't be able to operate if the VAST MAJORITY weren't happy with the service.... 90% are more than happy which is a fact!

So instead of moaning, griping like ole washer women do something posative ... Take you others birds AND don't USE AMTRAX!

Now that is a simple reality, and certainly one that would stop your Heart pulpitations. And Guess what! You would actually be telling Amtrax that a few are not happy with their service! Now that would be far far better wouldn't it! And then Amtrax would reply, 'Fine by us, any others fel the same way please do the same ... Ps Pete, if there was any reality in actuality in there being a few more gripers, Amtrax may well say 'Good, go and take your own... because w can assure you, your not worth the effort, let alone the hassle, so Good bye'. Perhaps then the other 90 % would be really peved of you you moaners, and make you 'Popuality of the Month'! Jees! With the 10% lets say 4.700 of you, and you lot can't get together and organise a set up better ... £10 a year each ... £47,000... nah make that £0 a £140.000 quidies, Would buy a few vans that maties, and a few drivers wages first off...

But would last above a month!

Can't believe that common sense doesn't prevail, as to just what the costs are involved. Let alone the numbers of pigeons shifted each year.... 500.000 wouldn't touch it and you are moaning about the very small % that are late, and a minute fraction of a % that have a little more trouble. Get more hassle a day of the missis in a day than the lot of you get from Amtrax in a year lol.

Best not use the service offered... not 'Don't read the posts'!

I'm sure that if it was me I'd find alterntive arrangements, and take or pick them up from sauce meself.

But like countless 0000's of others I have never had any trouble...

i use walsall amtrak no problem,i fone them in morning and say ive got to go to work and they always want to deliver livestock first

Coxy you are a plonker, no one is an Island, and Pete's views too many are not doing the majority any favours - likewise those that continually gripe about Amtrax and other useless whinges!

And I am attacking what he is saying and not the fellow ... but seems that is a bit to much above your head to understand that.

One thing for sure, YOU / PETE and 99% of the fanciers would be a darn sight worst off without Amtrax, and tha isa fact. And a few that keep stirring the pot should remember that! Likewise yourselve when butting into a conversation and taking it out of concept to suit YOUR' own ego!

When I attack Pete or anyone else they will certainly KNOW! And as for you I'll send you a Email so you can understand too! err umm er D d doh!

O.K I did not now I had to be put the exact measurements on here so I have changed it to 2ft Square if that helps.

I am at the moment not in possession of a cardboard box that Amtrak give you two put six pigeons in,but if anyone out there has please let me now and I will Post the proper dimensions.

Roland, thought you did nt like moaning and groaning? must have taken you 5 minutes to write than moan :-/ i was speaking from personal experience MATE used them 6 times now and only 1 time has gone smoothly!! so if you had used any other service and got this crap everytime would you still use and be happy with that service? DID N THINK SO!! and if you read my last post properly i said i was not using them anymore :X so you probably gonna say why did i carry on using them? well i thought thing could only get better and never had another option before, but now i have used roger from the phantom flyer, wow what a difference, just a shame he does nt cover all areas :-/. and cheers for sticking up for me coxy, and as many of you know on here me and coxy have had our differences, but this time i agree with him 100%, your on about butting in conversations, who asked you?? if our happy with the "service" they provide why not just post that. instead of starting an argument?? > read the homing world letters pages most weeks, mant unhappy fanciers think you will find alot more than 10%, im sure tony and fifer will back me up regarding our experiences :

YES AND I CAN AGREE WITH U WHY U DO NOT USE THEM, I DIDNT HAVE ANY TROUBLE WITH THEM UP THIS END BUT WHEN I SENT BIRDS DOWN THERE WAS, ALL THE BEST PETE.

And one must remember that Amtrax is a franchise, so most are own bosses etc.
