ISSUING OF NEW RINGS

IS THERE A STEADFAST RULE FEDS HAVE ABOUT GIVING OUT RINGS BEFORE A CERTAIN DATE ?

in the RPRA they are not issued before the 6th of Jan.

The RPRA are dispatching their 2007 rings 'on or about 3rd January and not before'

I would bet a lot of money Tammy that there are doo men not a million miles away from you who will have '07 rings in their possesion before the year is out.

 

Mind you proving it is something else!!

In the states there are also rules about not putting the bands out until the 1st of January.  The bands are sent out to the club secretaries and then dispersed on the 1st.  Like everyone else I also believe some (and maybe many) receive their bands before that magical day.  Ed   ;D ;D

I have alwas thought that a lot of good could be done by getting back to the way things used to be with the birds. In fact if rings were not available till after the first of march pigeon racing or rather racing pigeons would be far happier.

Where I use to live in Nevada the weather was so harsh that in order to raise ybs before march you had to have either a heated loft or heated nest boxes.  I never paired up before the 15th of February and never had a band problem.  I do agree if bands were not available until march there would not be a problem in January but think about this, whatever the date would be there would always be those trying to short circuit the system to get some kind of advantage.  Just my thoughts anyway.  Ed

WELL KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS YEAR OUR FED SECRETARY HAS BEEN TOLD NOT TO ISSUE THE RINGS TILL 7th JANUARY, HE WAS ON THE PHONE TO ME LAST NIGHT THATS WHY I CAN SAY THIS,, THOUGH NEVER MADE ANY DIFFERENCE TO ME BECAUSE NEVER HAD BIRDS THAT EARLY THAT I NEEDED RINGS BEFORE THEN.AND ALSO TO END ALF AND SAPPERS HAPPY DAYS THINKING THEY WERE GREEN,  THE RINGS ARE A DARK ORANGE  CAN HARDLY SEE THE NUMBERS, WELL I CANNAE ANYWAY

Since I first joined my club, ring meeting has always been January. Same meeting you paid your fees for the year, no fees paid = no rings.

 

Agree there must be some people who have rings before this but may not be as sinister as is being made out; if rings have to be available to members of Scottish Clubs by January, and they all come from SHU, then they've got to be distributed to Fed Secys and Club Secys Nov / Dec. Gives time for all the ring records: feds, clubs, members etc to be completed properly.

 

Was in our hall Dec 2005 when the 2006 rings for our club were handed over by the Fed President to our Club Secy. Still distributed to our members mid January 2006.

birds should be born in the year of rings, this is why u should'nt get rings before 6th or 7th january, if u get rings on 3rd or 4th etc birds could be rung which were born in the december, so not born in the year of rings,
