Guest WINGS 04 Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 I WAS JUST TRYING TO SEE WHAT PPL THINK AND HOW THEY JUDGE THERE SEASON
kaybee Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 first you must beat those around you (club) then a bit futher afield (fed) and then all comers (nationals) but if your results improve each year you are going in the right direction.
Chris Little Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 At the start of the season set your goals If you meet them you have suceeded , if you never then you've failed
mark Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 just enjoy your sport the rough with the smooth.
Guest Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 dont judge urself on how many races u win!... but how many u lose!...paul
Tony C Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 If I get in the first 1% of the result I'm happy, happier still if I win it
ACE LOFTS Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 not being big headed but i only judge my self and my perfomances at fed level, we try and get in the top 25 of the fed,
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 not being big headed but i only judge my self and my perfomances at fed level, we try and get in the top 25 of the fed, Our performances looked a lot better at Fed level - only 2 club cards in young birds ( top 5 up to 600 birds) but 5 fed cards (top 20 up to 5000 birds) ;D
madmaxlofts Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 its nice to win and get good returns but id rather get them all home and be middle table than win and loose 90% ov my team i only had 7 widdowhood cocks last yr this yr 20 so i might have a bit ov a different approch to them now but its still nice to get them all home
jimmy white Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 its nice to win and get good returns but id rather get them all home and be middle table than win and loose 90% ov my team i only had 7 widdowhood cocks last yr this yr 20 so i might have a bit ov a different approch to them now but its still nice to get them all home yes , def agree, when i raced them ,no matter how many i sent , it was great to go to kip on a sat night knowing their all home,, ;D [theres allways another race]
ACE LOFTS Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 i forgot to mention we dont fly the channell, so dont realy compete in nationals
Wiley Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 the first thing i look at it you got to win your club, if you win the fed its a bonus. To win a combine your over the moon. But this year going out all guns blazing all im concentrating on is fed wins, thats all i want to achieve!
peterpau Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 going to bed with more 500milers in the pen than last year
Wiley Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 going to bed with more 500milers in the pen than last year thats what ya call starting up your own family hehehe ;) ;D ;D
carl Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 in my club theres 26 lofts on one allotment,no one has an advantage wind wise and we send sometimes 700 birds in the club.I judge myseasons performance in the club and in the fed,its a hard club to win and an even harder fed to win,we are the most westerly club in the fed so unless we have a good south or west wind we dont top the fed.I have to judge my season on club performance also
Guest Hjaltland Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Where i race success is measured by what percentage of old birds left in the loft have 'flown over the water' that year. I get my enjoyment by seeing good returns not only for myself, but for the club... good to win as well!
Guest CS Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Let's enjoy your sport..... Best of luck with your new racing season 2007 to come.
johnny11 Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Wings I look at the season and ask if I have enjoyed it? Regardless of performances thats the most important thing for me John
Guest Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Wings I look at the season and ask if I have enjoyed it? Regardless of performances thats the most important thing for me John this is an excellent post, no matter what anyone says, pigeons are there to be enjoyed. If you set your heart on winning, you can then loose the enjoyment.
barlbylofts Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 just watching my birds return home on the day thats a good anouth season for me
