Guest Doostalker Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 thanks doostalker for your information. this still leaves us with the situation of no access to information. have tried asking via the web site contact. no response on a good few occasions. will not be at blackpool. will continue to ask on this forum. no answer or response speaks for itself it wisnae me. No problem in supplying the information Johno. I can only suggest that you keep trying the website for a response. Sorry you are not going to Blackpool, but if I see either of the gents you mention I will ask them to contact you, as I am sure anyone else can do too. Perhaps Frank or Karl can pass on the message if they call at the stand. If you pm me your name, address and/or telephone number, I will make sure that Messrs Kelly and McFadzean are made aware of your queries. I would suggest that the reason that you have had no response to your questions on this forum is because the two gentlemen in question do not use the web. They have only just discovered faxing! As for me, as i have stated before I am not a Trustee nor am I involved in the one loft race; so I am sorry but I am unable to assist your enquiries. I hope you get a resolution to the issues which so perplex you, and I wish you every success in the coming racing season. Yours Aye Terry Markwick
GREENGRASS Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 can i ask where all the money goes, what are the good causes, etc any info anyone....... Terry with two k`s, above you will find the only post i had made and if asking a simple question like this is taken by you as mud slinging prehaps maybe the paranoia has gripped tighter than you think. ;) i will look forward to speaking to both at balckpool and hope they can answer the many questions that will be asked of them over the weekend. ;D unfortunately the 2nd youngster had to go the way of the first a few days after i last spoke to you. maybe the flitting from dunoon was to much for them. :-/ maybe see you at blackpool if you are going down, if not best of luck for the season ahead. karl
maverick Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 NICE TO SEE LADS A GOOD OLD DEBATE ABOUT SOMTHING GOOD OLD ARGUMENT AND AT THE END WISHING EACH OTHER ALL THE BEST FOR THE NEW SEASON WELL DONE LADS.
Guest Doostalker Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Karl My last word on the subject; you are over sensitive if you thinkthat I was accusing you of mud slinging. Look at what I said again; but this time a little more objectively. I said that both you and Frank (both people I have spoken to on the subject) know that I have no truck with the ongoing infighting that seems to beset the sport in Scotland around this time every year. I am in this sport to enjoy myself and to race/show my pigeons. I try to treat everyone I speak to with respect. I do not categorise anyone into this or that group. They are all doo men to me! If anyone has an issue with me I will discuss it maturely and openly with them. If I have no answer, or cannot assist them I will tell them this. I have no time for the continuing puerile nonsense which seems to surface in Scotland every year. Sadly it is not new. I remember way back in the 50's the situation was the same; with arguments and cat calling the order of the day then too. Maybe it is an affliction which besets doo men and maybe we can be cured of it if we give the birds up. Sadly I think that the arguments may lead to more of us taking that course of action. :'( Looking forward to seeing you at Blackpool and having a drink with you perhaps. Have a good season. Yours Aye Terry Markwick
GREENGRASS Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 I know Frankdooman (Frank Baillie) and Green Grass (Karl Kelly) and they know that I have no interest in getting involved in any of the mud slinging that seems to go on in Scotland around this time every year. your words i believe terry :o
Guest Doostalker Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Karl......objectively!!!! That seems to be one of the problems in our sport. What people say is misconstrued by others and arguments start. I have no desire for argument; so I am sure that what I said was not intended to be accusatory for either you or Frank. : Have a nice night Karl and try reading what I said tomorrow. Maybe you will view my comments somewhat more dispassionatley and realise that there is only a barb if you want to see one.....and I certainly didn't plant one! :) Yours Aye Terry PS Make mine a Guinness!!
GREENGRASS Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 we will probably have to agree to disagree on that one terry, tell me do estates agents use word association................................. ;) . thought not. first round on you...................... ;D
johno Posted January 11, 2007 Author Report Posted January 11, 2007 it would seem that anyone wanting information about the scottish pigeon trust should contact mr kelly or mr mcfadzean. so now you know it. baffles me why some organisation have a web site and refuse to put normal contact details and general information on the same site. the fact that the web site is showing contradictory information is hard to understand. the fact that they have left out everything about the 2006 race is beyond belief. the fact that the management committee appear to be incapable of a straight answer says a lot. how does one get elected to this trust, another question is this the same mr mcfadzean who accepted an illegal nomination for the presidents job at the shu while being fully aware that he was not even a delegate which automatically excluded him. makes one think very seriously. doostalker im sure some generals in the past have used the i was only doing my job clause in a vain attempt remove themselves from the flak one the commander in chief had been ousted.
Guest Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 Terry calm your jets big man i have never made any remarks about you or any one else infact the last time i spoke to you i thaught you were a trustee and i think we had a reasonable discussion about the subject at that time but as you kwow iam an avid one loft racer and all i wanted was some information about the Scottish race the point i was making was their is no way of checking the finacial situation of the trust as it was made perfectly clear to all of us that the trust only needs to supply the trusties 5/7 men with the bal. sheet but there is no way the punters that support this cause should be treated like this you say we are raking up old arguments maybe this falls into that but fanciers are still giving moner in good faith catogory but i think that the pigeon fancy at large suould be made aware of this and let them judge for themself if they want to support such a thing as for asking the men you mentioned tried that got the tee shirt but no ans. have a good season might see you at blackpool (Frank Baillie)
Guest Doostalker Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 Frank see you at Blackpool. By the way; I have never said in these recent postings that either you or Karl were mud slinging or saying anything about anyone. I would have thought I had made that point clear. Maybe not; if so I say it again....in my postings on this thread I have not accused Frank or Karl of mud slinging! Johno....no comment!
johno Posted January 11, 2007 Author Report Posted January 11, 2007 19.02 information scottishpigeontrust home page estimated prize one loft race £10000. entry form page estimated first prize £20000. same page First Prize IS £20000. entry fee one bird £125 3 or more birds £100 each. well thay hve updated part of the site. no news on the 2006 payout though. maybe their is no comment on that race.
HOMER49 Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 Hi Scotlands 1 Loft Race under new management been planned for months Surprised you SPT bashers didnt know that What a poor show not knowing all the facts before posting Cheers Homer 49
V1JSL Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 Hi Homer 49 Who are the new managment committee mate ? Is there a web page dedicated to the one loft race planned ? Do you know the amount of entries to date for the 2007 race ? Thank's John
HOMER49 Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 Hi john In this weeks BHW Cheers Homer 49
johno Posted January 13, 2007 Author Report Posted January 13, 2007 there is a website at http://www.scottishpigeontrust.com. quality of information is poor in my opinion.
johno Posted January 13, 2007 Author Report Posted January 13, 2007 good you know what is happening homer the rest of us are like the pigeons in the dark. I have just looked the web site. They have removed the expected prize £10000 page. they are now giving the price per bird and the buy three get £75 off deal. there is no mention of what the 2006 first prize was but manage to tell what the 2005 five first prize was. there is and has never been a list of original enteries so that people can see how much was raised through entry fees. they say that thousand shave been used in ways to benefit the pigeon fancy but provide no breakdown of receipts and paymnet. all round it is a poor show for an organisation that attempts to portray an image of a benign well intentioned pigeon organisation. very poorly publicised and the web site is very poorly maintained. how they expect anyone to take part baffles me. no information no effort no chance. anyone wanting to take part in a one loft race DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Believe your eyes and ears. believe your own gut feelings and you will not go far wrong.
johno Posted January 22, 2007 Author Report Posted January 22, 2007 update from blackpool. scottish pigeon trust the promoters of thescottish one loft race stall abysmal attempt at promoting the trust. the stall was a small borrowed table covered with a tartan piece of cloth. on the table was a 1/4 bottle of whisky. was the whisky the first prize or was it a raffle prize. what is this all about. how do these people continue to promote this tragedy the way they do. as i have stated before do your homework. i find it difficult that so called trustees think this is an appropriate way to promote the pigeon sport in scotland. i was shocked when i realised this was the so called stand of a scottish pigeon organisation more worrying was the fact that the stand was being attended by two past presidents of the shu. what an example. i would expect that the entry and the first prize in 2007 will reflect this situation. what a shambles.
Henrik Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Thought the Scottish Pigeon Trust Stand was very well run and you do not need to spend huge sums of money on a big fancy Stand for it to be run right. I,m sure if the RPRA & BHW had to pay the full price per foot for a Stand which by the way is how it is calculated they wouldnt have had so much footage. I was made very welcome at the stand and was given a cup of tea which i was,nt offered when visiting the RPRA stall.

Guest Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 We are sending 1 x Syndicate I x my family are all chipping in. So we have 6 birds in all going. good luck dougie
Guest Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 ;D i good luck Dougie , keep us posted on results ! andy 8)
johno Posted January 23, 2007 Author Report Posted January 23, 2007 henrik the stand was a disaster. all the talk about expected prize money being thousands does not stand up to investigation. if last years first prize was not as expected then would we accept that this years projections were on the mark. the set up is a disgrace to the scottish pigeon fancy llet alone the uk fancy. and the lack of information relating to the income and outgoings of this so called trust is in my opinion frightening. stand up for what is right and fair.
