I feel the same nothing like when the bird comes back from 300-700 miles can't abide sprint racing but each to their own :)

AT OUR CLUB AGM ON THURSDAY WE VOTED TO DO AWAY WITH PRIZE MONEY THIS YEAR, TO HELP CLUB FUNDS.  I ALSO FLY FOR THE ENJOYMENT NOT THE MONEY

I WOULD RATHER PAY OUT THAN WIN IT LIKE ALOT OF PEOPLE SAID ITS THE BUZZ OF SEEING YOUR BIRD COMING OVER THAT ROOF TOP KNOWING THAT IT JUST FLOW A 100 MILES OR SO! ;)

If anybody was in it for the money there would be better of taking their money and going down the bookies and having a gamble, it would save a lot of that persons time and expense between cleaning, training and not forgetting about the wife nagging. ;D

Although our wonderful sport abounds with genuine pigeon folk, always beware of the small minority, who think of nothing else but money. FULL STOP, and are unfortunately driving good members away from it. Vic. :(

If it was a choice between having a £1000 in the back pocket or a day bird from our longest channel race - I would pick getting a bird home  ;D. I only ever pool, to keep people happy in the club, so I dont get known as being tight LOL

Well I doubt if there is any reality in that at all. Of course some make a living... and good luck to them. But the fact remains that several more do actually make money, beside the feather merchants etc.
