ets chip rings

Take it that the 10 that come with the system are OK, but further ones must come from SHU. Like yourselves, wondered about this. Don't know if its a security thing, a quality thing, or an income stream for the Union, but it is as well double-checking before you source them elsewhere.

And SHU need to sell them at a reasonable price if it's a monopoly supply.

Disappointed in you bruno you clearly don't read my educated well thought out posts

I f you did you would remember "me" pointing out that the only reason this was being brought in was to make money off the chip rings and that is exactly why the RPRA have brought it in as well.

Wait and see in a few years we will be getting

"oh its no longer cost effective to allow people to use normal clocks better buy an ETS system"

Thanks Gangster also do you know if someone gets a stray in can they use he chip ring or is it registered fo use by the purchaser only in ottherwords are people going to start taking rings off other peoples birds

People will still remove the chip rings out of spite or just pure badness, last summer i had a stray arrive on a sunday morning reoprted it and it belonged to a forum member who had advised me it was racing on the saturday, so i told him it must have been in somewhere else as the rubber was removed, he said there should be an electronic chip ring, it had been removed and the bird chucked up.

as greengrass said theres nothing stopping some *expletive removed* taking the ring off but its no use to them as its  redgistered to the ring number of the bird so  no real point removing, only as you know there are plenty of low-lifes who will remove for spite....

Can confirm seeing previous complaints posted on this forum of birds minus ETS rings during a race and suggestion that they had been removed. As others have posted, there doesn't seem to be any point in doing that.

Hi gangster

Not so sure about that The ets rings can be deregestered on your own birds so why not somebody elses ring If you buy a pigeon with an ets ring on it the ring is yours

hi homer im going off what ive been told it can only be re-redgistered by your own club sec as the system wont let anyone else use it, also to stop any one changing it to another bird mid season

One site says   (possible to take part in several flights)

MEDIUM

The race computer MEDIUM times up to 250 pigeons. Of course it is possible to take part in several flights at the same time. The computer allocates the pigeons to the flights automatically. The version MEDIUM has the possibility to connect it with up to four loft antennas. Beside that you can connect it with a PC or a printer and use it as a club computer.

A comfortable accessory is already included: The memory module. When flight data have to be transmitted to the club the race computer stays installed in the clocking system and continues its work. You just take the handy memory module and give it to your club. It contains all data which are also saved in the computer. If the module is replaced in the station there will be an automatic update with the timings which were made in the meantime for other flights.

The other site says  (single race capacity),

UNIKON Medium

Complete system featuring: 250 Bird Capacity, Base Station, Clock Module (single race capacity), Dual Ring Sensor (Max 4), 5 Meters Cable, Power Supply.

So does anyone know what it can do.

I WAS TOLD IN HOLLAND IT COULD NOT BE USED BY ANOTHER MEMBER AS THE RING IS REG TO THAT FLYER SO WOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED ON ANOTHER CLUBS SYSTEM..........MAYBE SALES TALK.....

sorry for butting in gangster, the truth is that people can take the ets rings off the birds and they can have them registered on their own birds by their secretary, only thing is they can be caught out and if it is found that their secretary knowingly registered the stolen rings then they should be banned from racing pigeons along with the theif and no messing about.

cheers.

Sorry Gangster you know me it can be done by anyone with a scanner

Hi Ian

The scanner only reads the ring you also need access to the club computer to change it

The ring can be reasigned anytime, but you can't make a new one to clock a bird unless it has been entered into the club unit an assigned it own personal code, the code is refixed each time it is entered in a race so it can't be cloned by someone with a club unit.

if you keep losing chip rings because your birds keep stopping off at other lofts

then you would have a big problem and it would not be a chip ring i would be bothered about ;D
