I've just had an interesting chat with a respected club member who doesn't win much but loves his pigeon racing. He is always there, when hands are needed and the club would not be the same without him. He reckons the ets will take the excitement out of the game, and the top men (prize wise) will make a bigger gap

between themselves and the majoity of.... shall we say also rans. He reckons that  the ets  wiil highlight the gulf between the succesful and not so. We will have members clocking in perhaps 12 or more pigeons before most members have even seen one, which he thinks will spell disaster for the future of the club. It will seem that the "also rans" will be getting it rubbed into them in no small way. Yes food fo thought indeed!  Vic.

Comes under discrimanation .... those NOT able to have one, be  it for location, costs or whatever.... Surely one cannot pass a law to discriminate against them...

Yes Vic more times than not the winner would be so whatever system used. What will change is the perception of those that are behind. As it is at the moment those behind work on the premise of time i.e. beaten by say 2 minutes, under ETS those same 2 minutes will be now be translated into position actually finished. Its better to have people think they're 2 minutes behind rather than know they finished lets say 100th or so.

Any way since when has Poultry Keeping been a sport? And surely since the MAFF then DAFRA and ALL govermnets have continuously refused to recognise our so - call hobby of pigeon fancy a sport there can not be any dicrimination! Simple that even I can understand that! AND further as there IS no legal Legistration to say that we evn COULD be discrimating under ANY ruling where does that leave us! Have yet to see any legistration applicable to us! Surely the ruling must and should have been quoted somewhere! You lot keep going on about this that and the other in regards ET and what the rest of us can or can't do.... About time someone somewhere put it up   to been seen !

Ticeye you part quote about sums you and the other Pro ET brigade and their true merit for wanting them when you say ...quote 'as for saying to have none ets clubs they will not do very well in the fed and combine results against others using ets' That is why it seem that our Fed won't be having them. Are he RPRa all of a sudden going to trey to enclose something! And something that may well yet turn out to be not only not enforable but illegally obtained!

Quite good, ANTI-DISCRIMINATION ACT 1977 - SECT 49C

What constitutes unjustifiable hardship

49C What constitutes unjustifiable hardship

In determining what constitutes unjustifiable hardship for the purposes of this Part, all relevant circumstances of the particular case are to be taken into account including:

(a) the nature of the benefit or detriment likely to accrue or be suffered by any persons concerned, and

(B) the effect of the disability of a person concerned, and

© the financial circumstances and the estimated amount of expenditure required to be made by the person claiming unjustifiable hardship.

and then there is the Act of being dicriminated against by the Law if the Discriminate act brings hardship or undue preasure to bear on others. Of course this would also be unlawful if  certain parties, disabled or not aren't able or allowed to compete on a fare and equael playing field.

Race marking is faster, timing is faster, getting the result is faster, It will continue recording the birds that have came home when I have left for the club, It can send a text message to my mobile phone letting me know what time the birds got home from training toss or race. Why should I use an old clocking system when there is a new faster better one. How many of you reading this go to work on a horse and cart? If you do not like change why are you sitting at a computer and paying to surf the Internet. A lot of people do not want to pay for ETS and the same people do not want someone else to have the advantage of ETS so what do they do? Try and stop other people using it. If every member was getting ETS for free there would be very few members against it.

FANTASTIC POST  ;) ;) ;)

Gangster,

You are correct regarding the Unikon Champ and i think also the Benzing Express, both have failed to get the necessary pass because of security concerns. An independant company named TNO tests all clocks for security to ensure that the system that people use in 100% secure. Both the above systems have failed these tests. Strange but a lot of countries dont bother checking on things like this. People assume that because a company sells a clock that it must be OK to buy????

The Unikon Champ is approved on the continent, as for the TNO reports there are no such things any more and has not been for two years so straight answer or not some one has their wires crossed.

I for one will have ETS, maybe not this year but probaly for next season.

My day often consists of up at 5.30am, basket the birds, let out, fed, water and clean out the rest, travel 30 miles down the road and let out my yb team and then hammer to work getting a rollocking for being late.

Get home at 5pm, feed the team, some look tired, some look fresh, did they take all day did they have a hrd fly, should they go again tomorrow, well now i can have the answers!!!!

Just my Thoughts
