hunger plus get a few tumblers and cut their wings and use them to entice your birds down to trap

Best place for them... you will see and observe more there than anywhere. They will trap from race ok I'd wager.

When us natural flyers have birds out, regardless what misleading stories are said, most are in the garden or on a roof top. Learn thm to trap to the Whistle, feed can, rattle or whatever... Jmo.

just if your on an allotment don't you dare shake the feed tin if anybody else has their birds out or you'll get the blame for them not flying ;D ;D

have they been frightened off the loft by a cat or somebody waving something about close to the loft ,i've found before if a cat jumps on to the loft roof when they're out and frightens them off they're a bit suspect of it

lock them out for the night an if they are not there th following morning they are no good if they are they will soon come in cause they will be hungary

do not throw a football at them, what a stupid thing to advise, do not starve them either... and do not get any tumblers or dropper pigeons.. god how primative is the advice given by some people.

i agree with roland leave them they will come good and trap when it matters , train them 6 times from 5 miles then jump them to 20 miles for a further 6 tosses then 30 miles for a further 6 tosses , they will come good , they are like children when you call them in for their tea they always stay out longer and do not break the spirit of your birds. do not panic feed them little in the mornings and full feed when they come in.

hope it helps..

As for dropper pigeons I'd say 80% of fanciers use them in the NEHU including the top boys but of course they must all be wrong.

It works for me, so why is it primative advise, and my birds always trap well of racing, they just know that the roof is off limits.........

hand feed the birds for a little while and let them come to trust YOU give a little tit bit from a coulored bag every time you ask them to trap once they get used to this as soon as they see the coulored bag they are down and in looking for there tit bit

I never shut my birds out, never throw a ball, and they just don't sit on the roof. My young birds will fly over an hour or more twice a day every day Last year my son would let them out at 4.30 when he got home from school and I had a job to get them in before 7 o'clock. Not that I have any this year. To me it sounds like you have two problems. Overfed. easy solution feed twice a day then you can regulate the amount you feed much better. The nasty little bugger too many overlook is canker, classic symtoms are look great but just don't want to fly.

half your corn couple handfulls in the morning for a couple days after training or flying this will make them easier to train as they will be looking for more food then put back on  to normalquoter of food and if it happens again leave with out food for 24hours.

this is how me & granfather use to train in the seventys it works sometimes you have to be curel to be kind.

hope this helps..

Teasing mine with peanuts at the moment. Let a pigeon come to you, managed well, they all will. One hour flying morning and night, fed morning and night. Simple ;)

Feed 'em, as if you have a hole in your pocket. This is the secret. Now that is out!
