GREENGRASS Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 4,500 is great birdage as some feds have had a hammering this year, the best of luck to all competing regardless of location and wind direction, may the best bird/fancier win.

Guest Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 only problem is the "big" national don't like to liberate in conditions that don't suit the east of the country - holdover do you think? Weather is south of the border, on east coast corridor, says Scotland is to be clear.
Guest waynemorris Posted June 9, 2007 Report Posted June 9, 2007 The Welsh NR fed (SE) are at newbury tomorrow as well. weather doesnt look to good with showers all day in a light north turning nne as the day goes on hope they are up though as im going away saturday afternoon on a bit of a holiday but told the mrs that we are DEFINATELY going to be back by saturday morning for the channel race from Huy

GREENGRASS Posted June 9, 2007 Report Posted June 9, 2007 hi all, if i were racing into the west of scotland or maye even central wih tmmorows forecast i wold not be going as its a north wind and they have no chance, the east will fill the first 50-80 open positions. when the snrpc wet last week it was south inthe wind, and with all due respect to the winners who raced very well,it was not a name who was winning it was also rans, and thats why if you look at the result you will find that most section winners have not even won there federatio so far this year and some not even a club race this year. what im trying to say is that when thers south in the wind its the lucky rather than good that win. the romancers will say a good sread of birds all over in the result, but the reality is the lucky win in a south wind into scotland. what a stupid statement to make, peter virtue, dennis dall, mr & mrs graham john proctor, etc etc ......also rans, the best birds on the day are those that handle the conditions better, you cannot blame a bird or fancier because the wind was blowing a certain way or do you think only a select few should be allowed to do well and everybody else should be happy to send, prehaps we should keep our birds at home and let the "names" send theirs.................

cricketer Posted June 10, 2007 Report Posted June 10, 2007 with respect cricketer the south wind is the great leveler here and gives everyone a chance the west wind is the norm that gives the east coast the advantage its different doos for east and west up here thats a fact aye a great leveller,my ars.come on now south in the wind is a blow home, you know it and i know it.its then anybodys race even the guys who cant win a club or fed race clock in before, how shall i put it,the harder working fancier. but as someone said the best birds for those conditions did win the race in each region. but they better not look for a chap on the door by people looking for doos,as people who look at the results would not even touch doos who fly north and win in a south wind. and as a matter of FACT IN THE FIRST 70 ofthe open result lastweek there was a grand total of FIVE yes i will repeat that FIVE pigeons from the west section on the result,WAT HAPPENED TO THIS "GREAT SPREAD OF PIGEONS FROM ALL REGIONS" AND THERS A FACT
