Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 how were your returns yesterday cornish combines were very poor as the controller sent em up 10 mins befor the birmingham SR fed went up with 4000 birds we only had 500 up there and 7 members in the club sent 98 pigeons only 25 home on the day! 3 members not having a bird! all members at least half or more away! and there were hardly any clocked as there return times were very poor, 3hrs 30 from 77 miles! :'( thats a wipe out for most down here!
danny Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 i am wiped out now from wetherby . coalville/leicester fed
Guest Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 loads of strays around abergavenny,i had 7 land but only 4 came in,my m8 has 5 in,another m8 3...seems yesterday wasnt a k index day but birds were still lost, im expecting to have more drop today, one thing ive noticed...theres still loads not wing stamping their birds, ive had just as many gb rung birds in unstamped then welsh, surely the clubs must be held responsible for letting these birds go into the basket...it dont take 2 secs to check each bird going through....maybe the clubs should be held accountable for it...im sure then it would stop flyers who dont stamp their birds....i seen one article on either this site or the other , this guy asking for lost birds, stating that it was their 1st time up...they should have been stamped b4 leaving the cot....its my sunday rant ;D ;D.....paul

WHERE WAS YOU RACING FROM BEN?? Taunton but im calling it a day as i have lost 14 birds this young bird season and ive only sent 19 to 3 races and its not my birds as every one is missing there birds so i cant be arsed to waist my money in sending, so maybe next year! GROVEHOMER Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 Whatever is causing these losses, one thing is clear......its having a bad effect on the fanciers in this region.
Guest Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 loads of strays around abergavenny,i had 7 land but only 4 came in,my m8 has 5 in,another m8 3...seems yesterday wasnt a k index day but birds were still lost, D ;D.....paul Hi Paul, not your full quote just homing in on this bit. Would hate to think that because k index was ok its ok to release pigeons - think with YBs anyway losses are caused by them getting into other convoys and the 'sheep factor' taking hold. Maybe's a case of strict corridor flying for YBs at least, to try to solve the other k index - klashing
Guest shadow Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 we all are theres only gonna be two more races for us instead of 6 coz of the losses > :'( its our race controller I would think its more likely to be hawk problems in your area rather than the controllers fault most are good at their job and probably have their own birds on the transporter
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 I would think its more likely to be hawk problems in your area rather than the controllers fault most are good at their job and probably have their own birds on the transporter no he let them up 10 mins befor a 4000 bird lib went up:( and we didnt have problems last year with diffrent controller
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 Lanarkshire have had very good returns in the last two weeks overall, but gets harder every week as the birds move farther down south from now on.
Guest Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 16/24 upto dinner time. 1st , 2nd, & 3rd club so its not because there's anything wrong with them, think they have just clashed.
