Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 I heard they may want to go with Lanarkshire. Is that true? NOT HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THAT UP TILL NOW
cricketer Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 hi all, not a member of said fed,but would like to make a few observasions. no 1:dont thin g.macaloney would like himself being used as an excuse, the guy lets his birds do the talking. no.2:was this race rout decided at an official meeting, and voted on by members present,if the answer is yes then what is the problem,a democratic vote decided it. no.3:at the last general election i voted tory, labour won,i accepted it becouse it was the democratic decision of the people who voted. sorry cant see why thers any argument. GO TO THE MEETINGS AND VOTE,OR WERE YOU ALL TOO BUSY ON PIGEONBASICS AND FORGOT THE MEETING WAS ON.
DECKY Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 decky is midland going east or west again? We havent had our AGM yet but after the horrendous losses the last couple of years , the word is we should probably be going east, but as we all know,it depends on who turns up at AGM.

GO TO THE MEETINGS AND VOTE,OR WERE YOU ALL TOO BUSY ON PIGEONBASICS AND FORGOT THE MEETING WAS ON. i could not make it as i was on holiday i think it is the wrong route was taken by going back to the west side i would rather my birds clashed with other pigeons than clash with peregrine's and i know peregrine's are in the east as well but not as many as beattock or shap
HOMER49 Posted October 30, 2007 Author Report Posted October 30, 2007 i could not make it as i was on holiday i think it is the wrong route was taken by going back to the west side i would rather my birds clashed with other pigeons than clash with peregrine's and i know peregrine's are in the east as well but not as many as beattock or shap Hi Bart Your vote would have been wasted anyway east route was well beaten I sat in the 3rd row and there was 7 votes including myself and nogin for the east in front of me along with JH and the president So only 7 more votes behind me and there was a large percentage from the west section and Dalzell club Not long ago you were taking about myself trying to break up LF which is untrue now you are advocating the unthinkable(NO BREAKAWAYS) Never heard any LF members comment on 24 birds in the basket ? I ask this for if the bird age is the same as last year in some races whose not going to be on the transporter This was proposed and seconded by 2 west section members and carried The lunatics are running the asylum Cheers Homer 49
ALF Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 WELL CRICKETER I WAS ALSO ON HOLIDAY WHEN THE RACE MEETING WAS HELD AND IT IS THE 1ST 1 I HAVE MISSED IN A LONG TIME BUT IT IS MY DECISION THAT I WILL NOT SEND MY Y/B'S DOWN THAT ROUTE I DONT CARE HOW THE VOTE WENT I DO WHAT I THINK IS BEST BY MY BIRDS AND THAT ROUTE IS JUST SUICIDE FOR THEM AND I WONT SEND THEM THAT WAY... BY THE WAY AS DECKY POSTED PREVIOUSLY ABOUT THE BAD Y/B RACING HIS FED HAVE EXPERIENCED DOWN THE WEST ROUTE THESE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS WITH Y/B'S AND WE IN LANARKSHIRE HAVE MORE Y/B'S LEFT THIS SEASON THAN IN A WHILE (ALL BE IT WE ONLY HAD 5 RACES OUT TO 120 MLS) WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO CHANGE IT AND HEAD DOWN THE WEST ROUTE??

HOMER49 Posted November 1, 2007 Author Report Posted November 1, 2007 i still cant understand why people voted for the west route what was there reason for it? homer Hi Bart Good question which I cant answer A Newmains member who voted for the west , when I asked him why he voted west the answer I got was WELL WHY NOT there is no answer to that Wings 04 voted west but has not joined in to say why When South Lanarkshire were contemplating breaking away from Lanarkshire part of there objection was that the birds where coming in from the east ie they were not coming up direct out the south Years later and in conversation with the late Jocky Harrison the SL birds were still coming out the east The birds will not come up through the Beattock summit Cheers Homer 49
ALF Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 THATS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS WEEK IN OUR CLUB ALEX THAT THE DOOS WILL STILL COME UP THE EAST SIDE OF THE COUNTRY.MAYBE NOT A BAD THING AS ME AND THE MRS WERE IN LEADHILLS 1 DAY DURING THE SUMMER AND SEEN 4 PAIR OF PEREGRINES WITHIN ABOUT 10 MINS ONCE WE LEFT THE M74 : : : :
frank-123 Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 think about this 8000 ybs head into the beatock summit the peregrine strike the birds will turn back it is so narrow would you walk through a lane if some guy had a sword up ahead me and my young birds wont be there thats for sure
