DOVEScot Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 So who posted the highest bid by 8pm? If its not more than £300 then its ferrys as he had a commision bid posted with webmaster?? Can you explain commision bid as you see it, in normal situation if you have commision bids as soon as someone bids then the commision bids kicks in increments to push bid higher any auction I have been at Example someone bids £100 on line the bid stays with the auctioneer at the increment about that, say £5 incriments. The hammer has it if a secret bid or name if not at £105 :-/ Other wise what is the point of bidding up till 8 oclock when you have an ace up your sleeve maybe,
ALF Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 ARE THE MODS NOT ABLE TO CHECK THE TIME ON THE SITE??? AND WHO HAD THE HIGHEST BID AT 7.59.59??
swilcox Posted December 8, 2007 Author Report Posted December 8, 2007 Well Ferry place a commision bid of £300, ie he was willing to pay up to £300 before the auction finished!!!! Lets remember this for the benifit of Pigeon Basics only!!!!
swilcox Posted December 8, 2007 Author Report Posted December 8, 2007 Just to add, there isnt anything to say you have to disclose a commision bid or its not fair on the commision bidder, the only confusing thing was Ferry continue to bid : But remember he was only supporting the sit we all love. Stuart
swilcox Posted December 8, 2007 Author Report Posted December 8, 2007 The highest bid at 7.59 was £235 by ferry so i dont believe there is any arguement. £235 was the last bid in the time alotted for the auction. Do everyone agree?

Lets remember this for the benifit of Pigeon Basics only!!!! Great for the site nobody is boubting that as regards money raised. but has to be fair to the members of the site as well, not fair on bidders thinkng they are bidding and winning when auction is in progress and when it ends to find out it may have been a waste of time, not good for the site You cannot accept commision bids if you are not there to monitor them while action is near closing to let bidders know where they stand

swilcox Posted December 8, 2007 Author Report Posted December 8, 2007 Its not easy to do an auction on a website thats not designed for it, but hopefully the money raised will help Richard maintain the high standards that we have come acustom to on PB. Stuart
DOVEScot Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Well Dovescot im very sorry to let the site down!! Who said you let the site down??? you may have let some members down by not being clear about final decissions when it was so tight. What you do is great for the site and the fund raising benefits are second to none, but Stuart you also get a lot of benefits from the site as well selling your birds :-/
