Regarding the thread which Richard Sanderson added,he states the "disgusting behaviour" by members was the reason the shows had been cancelled.Was this the behaviour of the offenders who have been trying to cheat? no,it was the behaviour of the decent members of this site who dared to speak out about the underhanded activities of some members trying to influence the voting to enable their own pigeons to win.Richard also states that these members who have complained have made a mockery out of peoples hard work in getting their birds ready for the show,is it not the cheats who have made a mockery of the people?I cannot understand Richards refusal to name these cheats while having no compunction whatsoever in using my quote and name as an instigator in this so called "disgusting behaviour".I am a new member and thoroughly enjoyed this site in the time i have been on,and i do think that Richard has created an excellent site which is a real credit to him but he must have hes own reasons for protecting these members.I do not feel i have done any thing wrong by expressing my opinion on the matter of the shows but by me being singled out and my quote being used i feel i have no other choice but to end my membership on this site.Thanks to the members who have helped me on this site and give my advise(you know who i mean)

I had updated members with what had happened, what was happening and what decisions were made, when they were made. This made little difference to what continued - I can only assume that they did not read it.

 

The reason that the members will not be named is that they are of an age that to name them would be highly irresponsible, and I wish never to become the instigator of a witch hunt, which would be the obvious outcome.

 

Unfortunately some people are not mature enough to realise the consequences of trying to artificially rase their vote, and indeed to them it may be all in jest.

 

However the most troubling thing for me was the constant distrust of my opinion and credibility in dealing with the matter. I do honestly feel that this was one of the darkest days for Pigeonbasics; and that was nothing to do with cheating - those with longer memories will remember when cheating happened before.

 

It was this 'disgusting' behaviour that has undoubtedly ensured that any online show on Pigeonbasics would hold zero credibility, and indeed this sorry affair would be worn around the neck of any competitor, or winner. In the end there was no decision to be made, the online show was dead and buried.

 

I wish no longer to labour these points nor to keep these accusations of censorship seemingly fueled. If anyone does have any questions, thoughts or feelings of Pigeonbasics or my running of Pigeonbasics I would certainly like to hear of them via PM. I will endeavour to answer as best I can anything they wish to ask.

i think its now obvious by  the webmasters post,that he   shares the same anguish and dissapointment as the rest of us , i should say EVEN MORE than the rest of us, he has did all the work , taken a lot of time , to organize, post pics etc lets be honest, you cant do BETTER than your BEST  , which the webmaster has done only to be let down by a small minority,[WHICH HAS BEEN EXPLAINED]  let us all learn a lesson by this,,,,,END OF PLEASE

hopefully the webmasters post above will clear this matter and put it to rest on site as the webmaster is willing to take and answer any questions by pm, this site has been going for some six years or so and i have been a member for most of them, and watched the site grow up to where it is today, at the top, and a great asset to the sport and members, and its not been easy for the webmaster all the way, but he has always stuck in there and put in lots of hard work and times to make it what it is, at time he has to make decissions which some dont agree with and i have not always agreed with them at times but one thing i have learnt during my time on the site is that if the webmaster does something or does'nt do something its for the good of the site, its his responsibility and its he who has worked hard and put the site where it is along with the help of the members and for the good of the members and the sport, and helping fanciers in lots of ways, so lets get back to basics and talk pigeons and help the webmaster keep us at the top, keep up the good work RICHARD.

everyone knows richard has done a brill job with this site and i think the amount of input and posts will show thats its a well used site by fanciers,i only think that a statement at the begining explaining his motives for not naming them would have surficed!...i would have totally understood then ,and not commented further on the matter.

now i know the motive for not naming the cheaters,and the reasons,the picture is clear.

but i do feel that members should have a say in matters,wether it affects the final result or not.

i think letting them express their feelings will only show to everyone that the hierachy of the site is open to everyones opinion.

i feel richard may well feel peed off by all this,wot has happened and about this situation. and am sure we! and the site will be better off now that things are clearer and i hope over with.

i personally had strong views on the cheating ,and aired my views,now i just want to forget it and move on all the best to everyone...paul

Richard does a great  job with this site. but it does not surprise me people have tried to cheat .. it is laughable. what do you expect with the people in here, theynshould be vetted more.

Absolutely pathetic cheating on an on line show a right group of saddos they must be can you imagine them if they ever actually could fly a half decent bird !.Mr Web master you do a fine job but i would personally like to see thier names published so people can know who they are dealing with but i go along with you 100% .

This shows how 2 faced some people are the best thing about pigeon racing is the people and the Worst thing is people and sadly the 2nd group far out weight the first.

Who do you mean Spencer? Is it some of us, all of us, or just those that don't purchase from you? Who do you mean when you state "the people in here should be vetted?? Is it the cloth cap imaged "jealous of you" commoners you detest so much? The people behind this episode are kids Spencer, young naive kids, intelligent enough to come up with the idea, yet immature and daft enough to think they could get away with pulling off such a scam! It was not the regular members who were behind this, in fact, i believe it was the regular members who raised the issue that there was skullduggery afoot. We as a whole, need to put this unfortunate episode behind us, and move forward taking the site back to its former standard. It would be better if instead of posting your usual "my birds are better than his, that i know" type of self centered dross, if you could come up with ideas on how to improve things, and give some constructive observations.

 

Although i personally don't participate in entering them usually, I hope the shows will eventually be returned to the forum for those that like that type of thing. and would like to ask the pigeonbasic members, can we come up with some CONSTRUCTIVE ideas on how to help Richard improve the running of the Shows, and prevent any further repetition of this type of cheating?

 

To throw my two penneth into the ring, what about showing/listing exactly who voted for what? Could it be set up so that as you press your vote button, your name appears alongside the bird or bird number, that you have voted for. I'm not a computer genius by any standard, but can Richard or the mods answer, would it be possible to have the numbers of the show birds listed on the left hand side of the voting screen, with the names of those that voted for that bird alongside it? Rather like the way the active members are shown at the bottom of the main site page. That will show if any dual account holding members are pulling the wool also, as the voting would be transparent! Just an idea, but is it viable?

richard I feel you put too much trust in the users of this site,,, all other sites either have a judge or you post your vote next to your name and not a secret vote,,, I believe the shows could be reinstated but all the judging has to be controlled by you,, maybe you could ask 5 fellow members to message you their 1st , 2nd and 3rd,,, lots of people would like these shows to continue and be a success.... many thanks for the site and it helps us fanciers during the avian flu controlled winter,, Richard I believe the users are 100% behind you and always will,,, the few will always try to spoilt it,,,
