yes as the above posts suggest they can get you in to trouble  ;D ;D ;D  mines is 50 years old and really funny at times ,, i would say c. p. b as yours is very young getting its confidence is the first thing, their very intelligent,, theres many parrot sites and info on them , worth looking at , mines coos like a pigeon ,,lets off like a human and sings like a canary ;D ;D ;D [which i have in another cage ] , to begin with try and gain its confidence by keep talking to it and offering a tit bit , with a little patience and time, im sure you will get many a laugh with it [and some shocks ;D] mines actualy flies free in summer [was actually out today while i cleaned his cage ] when hes told" to get in that cage" he does   ;D and often seen in the bath with the pigeons , they show no fear from it at all [i do sometimes though ;D] best of luck with it c, p , b.

the partner bit is very true . mine loved me and hated women. (greys/parrots quite often take a shine to one particular gender).

when my youngest daugter was badly bitten i had to let 'ernie' go to a good home.

greys are a massive commitment ,they need a lot of TLC and can live as long as humans.

mine was hand reared but by the sounds of it yours isnt.treats are the key to taming down.once you find out his favorte treat he/she will soon step up onto your hand............try grapes !

thank you all for the advice i will keep it all in mind he really likes grapes and peanuts at the moment so will keep giving him those and try to calm him down he takes them out of my hand and will come up to me if i go to the cage so his doing ok i'll just give him some time thank you all  :)

hi i have a african grey parrot i got it when it was 4 weeks old of a breeder , he gave us some food and a sringe to feed it with doing this it became dead tame , he even lent us a incerbater to keep it in until it was fully featherd the breeder told us there fav food would be chips but i thought he was joking , but when he got to 6 months old he started eating loads of them i couldnt believe it , he even nows when were having chips for dinner cos he hangs on the side of is cage going mad screaming for them any way you should try them and i bet he will get tame to you then mate ,he might not eat them strait away but trust me when he does theres no turning back, hes only 1 year old now and he shouts come on come on it sounds like my voice its very funny , just be patiant with it dont ever tell it of while its young cos they old gruges they got a memory like a elephant and they dont forget , i slapped it 5 months ago for biting me and its still sulking with me from then. :o :o :o;) ;) :o :o :o ;D ;D
