Merlin Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 What about pigeon fanciers join the Save Our Songbirds Org,raise the funds, take out a full page ad in a National Tabloid on a monthly basis, showing a very graphic picture of a Raptor doing its usually savagery on a songbird, With a Caption Which one is R,S P.B protecting,an dproduce facts, not propaganda. Pigeons do have a bad press,in instances we are also to blame, when these raptor people pop on.its to antagonise us,we should never stoop to their level, this should be about ALL prey birds,we would Im sure get much more support
frank-123 Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 fifer i think it wil be hard to turn around the general public opion on this its up too us really i reckon we would be wasting our time as somebody has already said but take a fluffy wee sparrow getting ripped to bits in a back garden thats what will change the public's mind
just ask me Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 i belive its a bit like the hunting bill in the uk there are too many what i call do gooders around who havent a clue what goes on and belive thers no room for a culling of species
THE FIFER Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 fifer i think it wil be hard to turn around the general public opion on this its up too us really we and the unions and MPs have been trying for years, sending them dead birds etc, the rspb is a very big organisation and land owner, they even have members of the police just looking after their birds of pray, we cant get them to look after the public but they can get them to look after birds
Guest chrisss Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 we and the unions and MPs have been trying for years, sending them dead birds etc, the rspb is a very big organisation and land owner, they even have members of the police just looking after their birds of pray, we cant get them to look after the public but they can get them to look after birds not just the old bill slinging op's around the nest sites :'( :'( :'( :'( the rspb has too much money all donated by the public [who only get to see pics of pretty birds ]what the rpra should do is hire a "spin doctor" of its own [and yes i know it will cost a fortune] but if nothing else, if all of the unions don't wake up to this they will be unions with no membership, so even if they don't have the bottle for a fight self preservation has to kick in before it ends
