cokacola Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 What exactly are the defining characteristics of a "Gay Pied" as opposed to a normal pied? I know that gay pieds tend to have a lot of white. Cheers! Tariq.
ALF Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 I THINK YOU JUST ANSWERED YOUR OWN QUESTION THERE TARIQ
Tony C Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 As Alf said you've answered your own question You will find a series of small video clips on the link below that might answer some other questions you have (look just below player 'All Videos in the Series' for more clips) http://www.expertvillage.com/video/18474_homing-pigeons-coup.htm
cokacola Posted March 24, 2008 Author Report Posted March 24, 2008 Ok, so Gay Pieds are the ones with lots of white, cool. I'v seen the expert village videos before ;D
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 Think you would call a bird a gay pied if more than 50% white thats how i have always done it.
cokacola Posted March 24, 2008 Author Report Posted March 24, 2008 Great, that's what I was looking for! Cheers!
Guest karl adams Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 gay pieds do look nice but do they make good racers
cokacola Posted March 29, 2008 Author Report Posted March 29, 2008 I guess it depends, some do, some don't probably. I know a man in my club's best ever bird was a Gay Pied hen. On the other hand, some people advise that they are easy targets for hawks.
tskyes Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 DUNT MATTER WOT COLOUR IT IS,IF ITS GUD ENOUGH IT WILL WIN
DOVEScot Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 gay pieds do look nice but do they make good racers Cannot see why colour would make any difference to a birds winning capabilities :-/
