Well another win for my first full season.

I won first club on saturday out of Wakefield with a dark busschaert bred from a direct Ali Bro's cock gifted to me by my friend Ray Pearson of Ushaw Moor another good friend of mine also gifted me the hen the yb is bred from.

The pigeons came like spartans I sent 20 and had them all back by the time I went to the club despite people having appalling losses from the race. Guess the old saying "train hard fight easy is true''

Again thanks to everyone on this forum for their advice and in particular to Davey Barkel for all his advice on how to moviate and feed the yb's and how to operate the darkness system.

Just shows you, you put the work in and get the results. Well and truely getting my own back on all the people who taunted me in my first YB seaason last year when my YB's were natural and I only won a fourth and they were saying the birds were rubbish and shouting "time it on'' to be sarky when they were a mile back.

Well whose laughing now eh. On saying that not getting carried away cause I still have a ton to learn and its probably the quality of the pigeons rather than me personally but they are paying back the love and attention I've been giving them.

Got mocked off one bloke for basket training them saying it was a waste of time as they can find the water naturally well it seems to have paid off cause mine weren't that dyhdrated by the heat.

One of them was you've only won cause you've had a load of training! Well why don't you get up at 4.30 am every morning than you lazy git and you might have won.

That takes the victorys up to:-

3 x 1st Clubs

1 x 3rd Club

1 x 4th Club

1 x 2nd Club Show

1 x 1st Fed

1 x 5th Fed

1 x 8th Fed

Flying YB's only last year and old birds and YB's this year. Sending on average 6 - 10 bird for old birds and 20 birds young birds.

Probably be a mile behind back week but you've got to enjoy the feeling while you can. My training plans have been scuppered by the weather a bit but that pigeon racing for you.

I reckon its the Rocky music I play in the van spurring them on.

I done the same in the late 90's took first 7 in fed, they called a meeting to have me birds drug tested, a good friend at the meeting told them to "forget about the birds test him". He would see me training every morning i passed his house. Keep it going mate the knockers will get use to it.

Tell you what I've saved a foture this season you don't need all these fancy products the chemist is class and my ma gets staff discount saved a bit of cash by:-

1. Swapping electrolytes for glucose and honey in the water. Glucose works out at 1.70 for a huge box/tub compared to 5 - 6 pounds for electrolytes much cheaper

2. Using metatone tonic instead of pigeon tonics only 3.00 a bottle compared to 7 - 8 quid for tonic

4. 2.00 for poss permitage in bath water instead of spending a foture on expensive bath salts
