OLDYELLOW Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 very unfortunate but rules are rules , you should always keep a copy of vaccination certificate just incase your in more than one club and if are transfering stray ybs then you can send a copy of its vaccination so new owner can race once transfered , and give them it 2 weeks before the 1st race.
pjc Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 although it sounds harsh Karl, they are only going by the rules that defra have impossed and can't afford to be seen breaking them. #Phil
Guest mikkey Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 well they gotta be sure everyones birds have been vaccinated i suppose
Guest karl adams Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 the secratery of the club knows my birds are jabed up and told me to put my birds through but when you get told as i was told (f**kem off or fetch the card) is that the way you would treat a new member
pjc Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 I believe under defra rules the driver of the transporter must have a copy of vaccination form for every pigeon on the transporter!
TERRY JOHNSON Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 In the NFC & BBC you only have to sign a declaration on your entry form to say that your entries have been vaccinated --- when you think about it however could the transporter carry a copy of each competitors certificates. !!
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 In the NFC & BBC you only have to sign a declaration on your entry form to say that your entries have been vaccinated --- when you think about it however could the transporter carry a copy of each competitors certificates. !! ciub supplys one
REDCHEQHEN Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 You also need a copy of your vaccination certificate with you when you train your birds - this is also a DEFRA rule
frank-123 Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 surely karl you had a copy you give one to your club and keep the original yourself so you could have copied it and given it to your new club saying that they could have given you a weeks grace i am sure
Guest strapper Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 in the welsh north road fed we sign a declaration that all birds have been vaccinated, with all entries for the race EVERY WEEK! karl although it seems harsh m8 they were acting on rules and lets be fair anyone could say they are at the other club(not saying that u lied just using it as example)..its the same as when asked by a copper why ur tax is out...its in the post used to be the reply. i wouldnt take it to heart karl m8 and go next week with a vaccination sheet for them to keep at the club, then all,s well and hope u have a good one in that race!
Guest karl adams Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 i no its a rule and do not dispute it i could have got the prof in 2 minutes and the secretary of the club new that i could but the part that got up my goat was the way i was told ie (f**kem off or get the card ) is that the way you would treat and speak to some one that's just joined your club
frank-123 Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 because one guy makes a comment surely the rest of the club can't be that bad even so a bit of thick skin and try and fukem off the result sheet should keep him quiet
Guest spin cycle Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 i no its a rule and do not dispute it i could have got the prof in 2 minutes and the secretary of the club new that i could but the part that got up my goat was the way i was told ie (f**kem off or get the card ) is that the way you would treat and speak to some one that's just joined your club even if you don't fly with them don't resign . he may have just been annoyed that they were your second choice. in the future you never know who/what you might need.
Guest IB Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 I think you really should have anticipated the need for a vaccination sheet for your new club. In this case its the same rule for all: existing or new member, no sheet - no basketing. But I agree that there's no excuse for the way you were spoken to. Put your anger to one side, get your sheet in next week, get your birds in the race, and hopefully they'll do all the talking for you.
lofty Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 Your right -Thats not the best way to speak to someone especially who has just joined. But some people just arn't very good with words. At least you know they are doing things as they should so sod him you joined becouse it suited you so don't cut your nose off to spite your face Lofty
chucka Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 In the NFC & BBC you only have to sign a declaration on your entry form to say that your entries have been vaccinated --- when you think about it however could the transporter carry a copy of each competitors certificates. !! thats we do in our club you sign your race sheet to say they are jabbed
chucka Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 took my birds to a club to send for the first time and was asked for the vaccination card (which i have given to the other club that i fly in ) when i said its at the other club i was told to take my birds home and send them when Ive got the card what a good welcome to that club no wonder that fed is dieing out the club will be getting my resignation in the next few days karl it is probably because you won the 1st young bird race
Guest strapper Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 the thing that has clubs bound by this rule is the sec/or the person responsible for basketing onto pick up lorry has to sign to say all birds are vaccinated, imagine if one day he signed then the birds were tested and one was found to not be vaccinated.thats him up the creek. but it was wrong to be spoken too like he was.
chucka Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 the sec or the markers dont get in trouble it the person who pigeons thereare for signing the race sheet to say they have being jabbed
Guest Vic Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 I think that the first club you sent in, is partially to blame. Surely, these days with printers in 99% of clockrooms/HQ etc. Surely a copy of the original, should be your receipt. But these days, it seems that there are too many experts amongst us. lol.
Guest Vic Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 If its the sec perhaps it should be looked at as an unworkable rule and the responsiblity is down to the fancier sec has to certify that birds been vaccinated but unless he was there he can only do that to the best of his knowledge CODE OF PRACTICE (1) Racing pigeons entered in races or shows must be vaccinated annually against paramyxovirus with a DEFRA-approved vaccine. (2) A vaccination certificate containing the details of the vaccination must be used. (3) Vaccination of pigeons must be witnessed by two independent association/union members, or a veterinary surgeon who will be required to sign the vaccination certificate on the front and likewise after the last pigeon listed on the reverse of the form. (4) The vaccination certificate should have recorded on it the make of vaccine used and the batch number of the vaccine. (5) The original copy of the certificate should be retained by the club and a certified true copy lodged with any other club (if a member is in more than one club). These certificates should be retained for two years. (6) Members entering racing pigeons in races or shows will be required to certify on their race/show entry form that the pigeons have been vaccinated against paramyxovirus with a DEFRA-approved vaccine. (7) Club secretaries will require to certify to their convoying organisations that all pigeons entered have been vaccinated against paramyxovirus with a DEFRA-approved vaccine. (8) The driver of the transporter should be furnished with a certificate certifying that all pigeons carried have been vaccinated against paramyxovirus with a DEFRA-approved vaccine. QUITE RIGHT! BUT HAVEN,T WE ALL BEEN BLED DRY FOR TOO LONG. WHATEVER HAPPENNED TO THE REPORTS FROM DEFRA VIA OUR WEEKLYS, WHERE IT IS PREVALENT? OR HAVE THE SUPPLIERS GOT US BY THE CURLIES FOREVER. LOL
Guest Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 i was led to belive it was only needed if the birds were leaving or entering the country .unless the rules have changed
