Guest Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 watch this space this happened in another 1 loft race in 2000 they changed the rules over nite and kept the race open for 6 days what a load of nonsence there were only 13 birds at close of race which was 10 am next day they should have shared all the money in my mind when they extended it to fill the prise money the boy who through my bird over the fence was not a fast runner i was just out side the money only kidding about over the fence but who knows
frank-123 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 just read all the posts these guys that liberated the birds should be reported for animal cruelty and i hope that is the end of europa one loft races
andy Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Didn't he offer you a share to drive it down Andy? No he didnt and I dont agree with cheating, unlike many more out there.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 see the one being picked up has anyone already done that???
Guest strapper Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 id wait for most of the birds to arrive and set another date from say 250mls in a better lib day say in 2 weeks. all people who bought tickets will have a free or reduced entry. this would be a much better idea in my opinion.
pjc Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Andy, why did you report it to the owner and not Europa, surely they should be arranging collection or maybe the owner will just collect it and keep it himself!
pjc Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 If you done that strapper it maybe agreeable to everybody until one of the birds dropped on the loft and they are denied the prize money as the bird may be sent again to the replacement race and not score!
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 another good point cancell race altogether
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 just read all the posts these guys that liberated the birds should be reported for animal cruelty and i hope that is the end of europa one loft races My worry Bart is it would have to many Knock on effects for the rest of the sport of pigeon racing.
Guest Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 why cancel every one still has the same chance
ch pied Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 if it was a 1 day race , that should rule out any hookery , birds being driven down to loft , going by post's on this thread about weather , a very bad call , to lib
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 These birds all transferred to europa or do they stay in their owners name lots still in owners name were last year and year befor
jimmy white Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Have you reported these two strays? at least it would let Derek know that the birds are in the lothians, Derek's number is 07810 323827 these two birds are not strays ,, they are birds actively competeing in an open race , which is still on the go , its up to the fanciers decision as to when to release these birds ,ie birds condition, and weather ,it should be sufficient for derick to know just this, there are many of these pigeons in the lothian area ,, there is no need at this time for derick to have any knowledge of ring nos,etc untill of course the race is over
Guest chrisss Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 lots still in owners name were last year and year befor sorry to say thats true, i had one in about 5 years ago [and i live in north herts] the bird was in the owners name, and boy was he hacked off,as an add on do you remember the thread about taking rubbers [ets rings] off strays, how many will make it "home" without ets rings on?
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 im going back to black noone has noticed i got it ;D ;D ;D
Guest redwhiteblue Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 these two birds are not strays ,, they are birds actively competeing in an open race , which is still on the go , its up to the fanciers decision as to when to release these birds ,ie birds condition, and weather ,it should be sufficient for derick to know just this, there are many of these pigeons in the lothian area ,, there is no need at this time for derick to have any knowledge of ring nos,etc untill of course the race is over If a pigeon enters my loft it does not belong to me it is a stray, I still think Derek should know where te pigeons are, no-one mentioned ring numbers.
Guest chrisss Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 i think they get sold at auction if i am right the min bid is £100
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 so if they get lost once you send them they are still the owners responsibility to get them back to the europa loft just as a matter of interest what happens to these birds then after this race if they return dereck gave me some for charity auction with owners permission
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 these two birds are not strays ,, they are birds actively competeing in an open race , which is still on the go , its up to the fanciers decision as to when to release these birds ,ie birds condition, and weather ,it should be sufficient for derick to know just this, there are many of these pigeons in the lothian area ,, there is no need at this time for derick to have any knowledge of ring nos,etc untill of course the race is over Very true Jimmy
andy Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Andy, why did you report it to the owner and not Europa, surely they should be arranging collection or maybe the owner will just collect it and keep it himself! Do you think im stupid. I reported to Europa through a mate that was at the race, who contacted the owner, who was also at the race, dingal!
pjc Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 the owner could claim they lost the bird and claim it back if its not transfered!
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 so if the birds are auctioned off after the race and the birds are still in the owners name surely the money that they get is the owners :-/ no rose if bird gets less than 30 the money goes to one loft as they give you cridit for next year they do not write cheques under 30
Merlin Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Whos to say these birds are going to get in in numbers to morrow, birds being lofted 60/70 miles from lib site after hours on wing, strikes me as a disaster, again these birds looked like they were just the supporting act for to day,"commodities"nothing else,no wonder pigeon racing gets such bad press, pigeons welfare should always come first, not in this instance it appears.
OLDYELLOW Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 no rose if bird gets less than 30 the money goes to one loft as they give you cridit for next year they do not write cheques under 30 see you pay your money donate your bird and you get screwed over for it been under £30 via a credit note for next year ooh the maggot on the end of the hook aint got a chance to wriggle off
