pjc Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Thats another story Chris, surely all the birds should be transfered and registered to the one-loft! If an bird gets reported then the breeder will be responsible for the cost of return, but what if a bird is sent without a wingstamp etc, the breeder gets suspended and the one loft organisers carry on regardless! Phil
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 we bought birds that were still in owners name he was not amused
JADE Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Not very good when you do not live in Aberdeen and do not know what you are talking about correct i dont live in aberdeen. i was informed by a friend the weather was crap. around a dozen birds landed on a roof across the road from me. one came in late in the day. the wing stamp contained the word europa. i phoned the mobile number and got no answer. can you tell me how many of these birds eventually got home?
Ian McKay Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Seeing as I had birds in the race I know what I am talking about not quoting others Yes I know how many made it home Mike Ganus had the first bird
Taylorsloft Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 they did something similar 2 or 3 years ago went to aberdeen after the edinburgh race and liberated them on a day you wouldnt let ducks out they were in roofs all over north of scotland dont know if any ever got home. i got one in that time and phoned mobile number about a dozen times on wing stamp but got no answer thats prob the same race my mate got one in
Ian McKay Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 thats prob the same race my mate got one in You are being led astray again Steve they were NOT liberated in Aberdeen
The Grass Cutter Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Darkness down at europa loft. No birds . I believe they are all away to the function.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Darkness down at europa loft. No birds . I believe they are all away to the function. be an early morning
bewted Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 be an early morning well,,,it will be an interesting one thats for sure !!!
Jeremy Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 I know its a fact birds have gone into lofts not far from the libsite to me the race is over if none on the day there is nothing stopping anyone driving down in the night and liberating a bird near to the lofts for 30 grand early morning. The weather was not fit for a liberation and with a helping wind bad weather could of only stopped some coming through. Best in the World well whats the worst like !!!!
hepste Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 I recall Stuart Wilcox recently suggested that there be some sort of a control and command centre for the liberation of different feds etc., to avoid clashing amongst other things. If I'm not mistaken, don't one loft races require a licence or something to run the race under RPRA rules? If so, could it not be a condition of the licence, that liberations for one loft races be controlled by parties independent of the organisers, so that there can be no doubts that priority has been given to the welfare of the birds. In relation to today's race, of course, the commercial aspects of the event would be little affected if somebody had made the decision to come back to say somewher south of the Scottish border.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 anyone on site got moterbike i can borrow to pick bird up in scotland tonight 10.000 on offer???????
celtic Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 I wonder how many fanciers who entered this year will go back for more again after this ?. How they can have liberated them in this weather is incredible ! ,it'll be interesting to see what excuses the organisers come up with.
pjc Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Do i recall that the region were refusing them a licence? Was it for many of the reasons that have been stated above and why did they issue one in the end?
bewted Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Well i think its a disgrace and i fail to see going by the weather that was reported on here that was that near to the lib site that there is any excuse whatsoever just hope if there is a next time people havent got short memories rose,,,with big money like this,,,most pigeon fanciers have short memories !!!!
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Do i recall that the region were refusing them a licence? Was it for many of the reasons that have been stated above and why did they issue one in the end? yes region did refuse licance but reached agreement it was stated in bhw they never got paid so refused us one????
pjc Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 maybe somebody wasgiven free entry to get licence?
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 £30,000 is quite a fair sum of money but it worries me that a fanceir that gets a pigeon in from this race could contact the club that the ring was supplied to which in turn would lead to which member was supplied with the ring. Let's hope that no person abuses what pigeon racing is about which is flying from A-B and the fastest vel wins and not getting a lift in a car from Scotland,North of England or were ever to the loft in Cardiff.

Guest strapper Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 im only in the sport for money...i wanna get rid of wot i got lol...which aint much lol
pjc Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Gareth, do you think given the fact that no birds have made it, that if anybody had a call this evening with a bird they wouldn't drive it to Cardiff for £30000? I don't think there are many that wouldn't, do you? Phil
Guest tom123 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 sadly no birds were recorded tonite but this has noo reflection on derek an co this is soly down to the conditions and hopefully a few will return mon im down there at the loft in the morning and will update accordingly
sammy Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Do you mean they havent got licence if they havent its going be bit hard luck on anyone who sent if they want to object to anything unless they can afford to do it through the courts thats probably been the whole idea of it ,no pigeons getting timed then what happens to all the money etc
