THE FIFER Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 this was a good thread, but unfortunately some of the posting have got back to the tit for tat, which is spoiling things, posts were moved because of this, and some which the members wonder why, but when posts are moved there is always the chance that others which have something in them related to another is moved as well, vincent has reposted one which was moved under this, so I will stick my neck out and leave it on, sorry for the trouble to genuine postings, I will have a look over the thread and move any others that needs moving, and then hopefully let the thread carry on as it should, but if it doesnt it will be locked, just for interest I have just seen this thread a few moments ago, please enjoy the thread it is very interesting just keep to the topic and lets leave politics out, thanks.

This is nothing to do with politics, this is to do with one man and one man only. It was not me that brought this man up, it was me who started the thread.
THE FIFER Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 I have moved the posts I believe to be off topic, so please keep to the topic in question, if I have to move anymore posts I will move the whole thread, which would be a shame as its a good topic so please enjoy it,
Guest Vic Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 In my own mind, the greatest pigeon was the one that flying well into the 500, MILE BAFRIER and above, belongs to a guy called FERGERSON. WHAT A PIGEON. only one on day£

andy Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 In my own mind, the greatest pigeon was the one that flying well into the 500, MILE BAFRIER and above, belongs to a guy called FERGERSON. WHAT A PIGEON. only one on day£ Naw, There's only 1 Auld Reekie, followed by Fortune Lady, then Lady of Courage.
jimmy white Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 not only did w kinnear and son race and bred auld reekie,, they also bred and raced" back to basics" a gold award winner which i had the greatest of pleasure of seeing comming home, being 2cnd nat. ,,,,,,,,all great pigeons indeed, all of them ,
Guest Posted September 20, 2008 Report Posted September 20, 2008 im sorry if my answer to albear upset anyone, i can assure you it wasnt meant to,, just thought it polite to answer him Jimmy I doubt you offended Bart? But the thread has got stronger with some of the old champions being mentioned. It's strange for me how all the champions mentioned prior to my post, and they are champions are modern day pigeons. But look at the birdage and competition now compared to say four decades ago. Surely those champion birds had much stiffer competition? And deserve equal consideration to the modern champions? By the way when I referred to clinker I think I wa referring to a guy at Dunning Dave Smith? Didn't he have an incredible Barcelona pigeon. I also apologise if I've gone off thread ... but hopefully I haven't. And yes I agree I always thought of Scotland of having the finest distance flyers, couldn't agree with King Jack though I think his comments were often more to wind up the Scots than said in belief.
frank-123 Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 just pulling his wooden leg albear seems to have come down to fortune lady or auld reekie i would reverse andy's thought fortune lady then auld reekie
