Guest Vic Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Price of oil has dropped and we are getting instant reductions at the pump. Price of cereals have also dropped. Never ever seen the corn merchants REDUCE their prices. What do you guys think? My normal corn has increased from £9.00 to £!2.50 per 20k bag. Well above the norm, I think. If it doesn't reduce, Vic goes elsewhere. Sad indeed.
Tony C Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 On the news last night they were saying farmers were getting £200 per ton for wheat earlier this year, they're now getting £140 per ton.
Roland Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Reckon that that is the best remedy that will work Vic... Go else where. Nothing will reduce costs as much as the 'Lose of Sales'. Mind in a cartel they are nigh all the same within pences. Have to check out the local farmers meslf too soon.
Guest strapper Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 corn is coming down , but not for us fanciers, wheat has dropped below £120 a ton and to show the farmers rip us off...french maize...is grown obviously in france...but they still have it as high as any other...WHY? they know they are onto a good thing and will club together to make as much as possible...and when the farmers are having a rough deal with the goverment who do they appeal too?..us! public...double standards by the farmers.
tskyes Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 WHEAT AND BARLEY SHOULD BE CHEEP AT THE MINUTE BUT I HEARED BEANS AND PEAS ARE GOING UP.

Guest strapper Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 pity we couldnt all sign a petition all clubs and unions and send it to the goverment should be thousands if all participated in it.

fletch Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 my dad said in one shop the price of the wheat went up but the weight of the bag went from 25kgs down to 20kgs a bag. double whammey
Guest IB Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Was just thinking how much more expensive a bag of feeding is now. Didn't see a drop in price when the bag went down from 25kg to 20kg. Doubt whether there will be any drop until the decision to allow food crops to be bought up by the biofuel industry is reversed. It's more than pigeons that's affected now with folk unable to afford basics.
cemetary Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 What was the price per bag then billy, and i are they just 20kg bags, bamfords are reducing there bags from 25kg down to 20kg. Manual Handling issue. ;D ;D ;D manual handling has been out for many years, unless someone has been injured and has been paid out a very large clam from the company. Price isnt dropping much though. :)
mark Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 the way things are on corn prices its time to keep fewer birds the less you keep cheaper your corn bill.
cemetary Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Doo you think with the price of corn these days that pigeon fanciers are doing this, i dont think so, the prices have been going up for months, and when you ask how many rings they have ordered for next year, they have ordered more than normal. So my answer to your post will be no matter what the price of corn is going to be, there will be more birds getting reared next year.

Guest Vic Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 On a similar scale. I went to the local market yesterday, looking for bacon ribs. One decent sheet which I selected cost over £8.00 I told him where to stick it. Offal at £8.00 a go is getting beyond it surely. LOL.
