BLACK W F Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Stuart i would like to make it crystal clear mr Frame from Newmains has gone out of his way to find this guy to no avail and i do not think for one minute that this guy is local also at no time has any blame been labelled against the LANAKSHIRE fanciers who are held in high esteem by myself and Jaap its just unfortnate the sale was at Newmains but it could have been any where this type of person needs to be caught and this mess sorted out our sport does not need people like this cheers Alan
retired Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Joe61 I think whats being said that he actually labels them in the pens as Show/Delbars, if thats the case he isnt coning anyone. This isnt the first time ive seen Delbars used in this way, why Delbars arnt they real good race pigeons (Roberts and co) why do they always seem to get mixed with show racers?? Can i also ask another question and on this subject i have no experience, can show racers race???? Stu I wont say anymore on this subject on this thread at least as its Alans thread yet is being overtaken - (i dont want to jeopordise my 20 rings for the grizzles next year) ;) However it was also the Theelens and at Donny they werent marked as show theelens or delbars, anyone who has handled a considerable amount of show racers and racers and also the delbar and theelen families would simply know the difference between the birds.
swilcox Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Hi Black WF I know mate and i knew you were not saying that i just wanted to lend my support behind the Newmain club, venue and the lads. I dont think anyone will feel you have stated anything other than that. This lad sounds a toe rag for sure. All the Best Stuart
joe61 Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 old yellow stated van alpen was mugging people if people know that they are crossed then hes not mugging anyone is he and as for buying from a racing loft only is rubbish oh happy days
OLDYELLOW Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 at best he was not stating that there were either race or show birds but anyone who wants to keep there reputation would simply have a small sign stating exactly that otherwise he is misleading potential buyers with birds that wont be up to racing in the first place , this will do nothing but put off new fanciers when this is going on .End of
swilcox Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 I agree with you Joe61 except for the last bit, A non fancier could never maintain a winning family because to do that you need the BASKET and RESULTS and not paperwork. Pedigrees and strain names are ok as a guide when you are first bringing pigeons in but once they can fly the BASKET is king.
joe61 Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 stuart i make you 100% right as pigeons win and as you say the BASKET IS KING oh happy days
Silverdale Lofts Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 com on old yellow how do you know the man crosses his birds with show birds oh happy days Doncaster dome i looked at Jaap van Alpens pigeons he had them down has Delbars two of us who saw the birds both stated the had show pigeons in them My boss was in Bridlington the weekend the Bridlington show was on and bought a pair of pigeons for me ive bought you a present he said on the monday morning i know you have Delbars so i went into the show and bought you a pair and got two pedigrees i couldnt believe it the cock was the same bird what was at the dome the pedigrees dont make sense just pics of birds on and a load of scribbled writing i felt awful but i refused the present he now has two show birds crossed Delbar
joe61 Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 silverdale that is you and your freinds opinion its a matter of opinion unless van alpen comes out and tells the world what they are oh happy days
bird man of meath Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 at best he was not stating that there were either race or show birds but anyone who wants to keep there reputation would simply have a small sign stating exactly that otherwise he is misleading potential buyers with birds that wont be up to racing in the first place , this will do nothing but put off new fanciers when this is going on .End of have to agree . only learning taught all pigeons could race
sammy Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 help required on Sunday 09/12/07 a sale was held at Newmains 14-00 to 17-00 hrs Manse rd Newmains by Jaap Van Alpen and his son in law Jaap had brought over birds that where ordered also sale birds and a special breeding pair that he was going to put on Elimar at the sale lots of fanciers wanted to buy them but he stood firm untill a mr ALAN SMITH who had already ordered birds from Jaap and had got them he continually badgered Jaap untill he would agree to sell him the pair only problem being he had no more money with him but promised to send the money over to Jaap as he had already bought birds off Jaap and no problems with paying Jaap gave hime the birds ring cards and peds yes you have guessed this person never paid and after a number of attempts to contact him is only left with one or two options some one must know this guy would they please pass on any info so we can resolve this situation its either that or put this in the hands of the police we get enough bad publiity with out this sort of crap thanks Alan was at that sale along with harky and i am sure the man in question was french or lived in france and was over visiting relatives and bought all them van wan roys that day posotive something was said about france he was a bearded chap

swilcox Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 OK There was a Delbar Hen in the pen for £80 and it was clearly a show pigeon so i asked Mr Alphen did he cross this bird with a show pigeon and he said yes the bird was 80% show pigeon. So Joe61 theres the proof, but i will asked even though it wasnt displayed that way once asked he did say it was a show cross.
Fair Play Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Always pays to ask Vallance had it sussed
Big Davie Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 was at that sale along with harky and i am sure the man in question was french or lived in france and was over visiting relatives and bought all them van wan roys that day posotive something was said about france he was a bearded chap Agree 100% with Sammy, i was also at the sale that day specificaly looking for Van Wanroy birds but there were none in the pens, i asked Jaap if he had any with him and he let me handle maybe six birds that were not for sale that this guy had ordered, he then produced two black cock birds which he explained were to be sold on the elimar site but said that he would let them go for £300 each, all eight birds were good quality, and i was really interested in one of the two black cocks, but the guy that had ordered the birds showed up and took all the Van Wanroys including the two black cocks, i have never seen him before in my life so he is not a Lanarkshire man, I was also told that day that he was French, or lived in France and was visiting relatives in the UK, stocky built, late 50,s bearded.Just for info there were a number of birds that day on display, or in panniers that were definitely cross show racers. Davie
Guest rodders Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 i looked at his birds yesterday at donny and there was a big blue loverly looker and was clearly marked as show delbar as for his van theelans a m8 of mine has them off him and flies full mnfc programe with them
Guest LBuddle Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Hi all, I do believe that our good friends Mr & Mrs P Fauchon's 2005 BICC Barcelona winner was 50% Van Wanroy from Japp Van Alpen. We to have a 50% Jan Theelan hen from Japp that has won for us:- 3rd Open NFC, 17th Open NFC, 77th Open NFC, 104th Open NFC and 250th Open NFC. This is just my experience with his pigeons. Lee.
OLDYELLOW Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 i bought a Jan Thelan hen off him at Bridlington but sold it on as wont be laying any eggs any day soon lol ;D ;D ;D ;D
Silverdale Lofts Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Had a word myself today to Jaap Van Alpen told me they were crossed with show birds and if my mate was satisfied take them back next year and he will swap them or give is money back
OLDYELLOW Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 Had a word myself today to Jaap Van Alpen told me they were crossed with show birds and if my mate was satisfied take them back next year and he will swap them or give is money back cant get any fairer than that
Michael J Burden Posted December 7, 2008 Author Report Posted December 7, 2008 The more I have thought about it the more I still have no idea what the reason that anyone would cross show birds into their racers. What use are they? Even more astonishing is why someone like Jaap who obviously has sold good birds to others does such a thing.
slatey Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 i was reading some of this thread last night so when i went in show today i went and had a look yes they was marked has show racers there must have been over 50 pigeons on show no dought some one will have a go but i wouldnt have give him a tenner for the lot

Thought peter hall petron had them in good nick
Michael J Burden Posted December 7, 2008 Author Report Posted December 7, 2008 Make good curries out of those show crosses
retired Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 i looked at his birds yesterday at donny and there was a big blue loverly looker and was clearly marked as show delbar as for his van theelans a m8 of mine has them off him and flies full mnfc programe with them Agree Rodders there was one marked as a show delbar, but what about the one in the next pen ??? (today anyway!) People have already stated though that if you ask, he dont lie - So i think thats the best your going to get (not sure you should have to ask anyway) I looked on the birds at the stand and also handled 4 that were purchased before the doors opened on Saturday by a friend and there was a mega difference in quality - Any of them 4 could have come to me - The ones on the stand Ummmm well maybe not but thats just my opinion but i will say this IMO Jaaps birds werent the best there but certainly not the worst either.
