alex wight Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Can anyone please advise. I got a letter the other day from the snfc, informing me that i have not paid my 2008 fee's. As most of us know, i had other things on my mind, what with my loft being burned down. I obviously couldnt fly this year and informed the snfc (left a message on answer machine). I have since tried to contact Andrew Garven to ask for advice, as to whether i,ve to pay or not. This is not about being tight and not wanting to pay, but considering the position i found myself in, i would have thought i wouldnt be asked to pay. Please advise, alex wight (now lochgelly fife).
Guest Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 hi alex you needed to have put in a letter of resgnation before april 1st or are liable for that years fees £30 plus a £6 penalty for late payment so if you dont resign your due fees next year of £66 before april 1st if you dont pay this years fees of £36 you will be debt suspended by the shu thats what happened to a fancier in my club a couple of years ago hope this clears it up for you dave
alex wight Posted December 28, 2008 Author Report Posted December 28, 2008 Thanks DJW, i faced the worst possible senario that a fancier could face, and it took a lot for me to keep going. If i,ve to pay i will, this is a special case and just wondered how i could approach it. I will be flying again this year with the snfc, and many years to come. I,ll try and get in touch again, thanks again, alex.

Guest IB Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 The last postings are strictly letter-of-the-law, and another part of that is that everything must be in writing, so in future, rather than a phone call, send Andy an email. He does respond to them, and of course you both then have a written record. I'd email Andy explaining the circumstances, I'd print a copy and send that off too with a cheque for your 2008 fees. I'd ask that the Management Committee look at your case sympathetically, with a view to full or partial refund of your 2008 fees, which you would intend putting towards 2009.
alex wight Posted December 28, 2008 Author Report Posted December 28, 2008 Take it there wont be any special circumstances then. Being the only loft to be burnt down in scotland, the snfc wont have faced this before. I,ll just have to keep trying to contact them. Cheers george, alex.

hotrod Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 i would like to think that the commitee would have a sympathetic look at your case/special circumstances/money for new loft/new birds/loft equiptment etc/must have cost a pretty penny.I know i would bring it up at commitee level. :(
