hotrod Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 GET THEM CHECKED BY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT TO LOOK FOR!!! quite right alf i remember a few years ago a friend of mine thought something wrong ,went to local vet ,i had told him that i thought they looked great and didn,t think anything wrong maybe a little worms ask vet ,anyway the vet checked droppings and when he said is it worms my mate thought it might be ,she said its cocci its that high that worms wouldn,t survive, when he told me i laughed i said pi@h if they that bad the would be lying about dying not clapping off loft etc.So make sure IT,S somebody that knows what their talking about.I always send off test 3 weeks before big race. and treat if needed
jimmy white Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 good distance pigeons, usually have very strong consitutions, therefore very little need to treat [just good loft husbandry] sir, colin,, used to drink out old puddles etc,, he was never ill in his life
jakjak Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 been down that road alf , few years back , always got same answer ie cocci count a bit high other than that they are fine , thank you very much that,ll be 30 quid please kept birds 50 years now i think i know when things are,nt quite right by the way im not knocking anybody who wants to go down that road i simply dont want propped up pigeons excellent point....... my long distance winning pigeons had good motivation and good corn! propped up pigeons wont make it long distance! winning pigeons are never ill....think about it
