JM Couriers Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 thanks for letting me know.having trouble with 2 cats visiting my loft when im not there,i think ill buy a sling instead. Hi I live next door to racing pigeons. I have 6 cats. There was a thread about cat deterrents and the conclusion was that some work but most are crap. So, you either have to suck it and see and risk losing a lot of money, or you may just be one of the lucky ones and be as chuffed as nuts with the product. The best methods are either get a dog, get a cat or get a super blaster water sprayer, that sprays water up to 30 feet. away. Unless you have a cat like mine that loves water, acts like a dog and chases next doors dogs and likes sleeping in the pigeon loft when the neighbour is cleaning it out :-/ Julia
Guest strapper Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 a well known vet told me that what fanciers dont realise is the high pitched noise can be heard by the birds as well, hence them getting stressed because of it.
ransom50 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 what you want to do is invest in one off these no cats around my garden or stock loft happy days :)
Guest Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 I tried a similar ultra sonic thing for my chicken shed which was supposed to keep mice away,it didn't work.I bought it from a stand at the Blackpool show 2 years ago, could well be there again this year, save your money!
Guest Taylors Choice Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 We have a similar product on our garden & home website http://gardens.taylorschoice.co.uk/products/132277s_sonic_cat_repeller_-_stv.php i will find out some more information for you tomorrow when im at work if you want
THE FIFER Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 the best one that does work is the scarecrow, you get them from boddy and ridewood but they are expensive, garden centres are best, the connect to a outside water tap, and fire a strong jet of water, cats only get it once, dont come back for more,

We use to have it on display in our main entrance (in a box obviously so everyone didnt get wet!) seemed quite powerful and the sensors worked well. Only reason we dont have it there any more is because it was always going off when people walked past!
