Guest Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Who do you believe is the best fancier in the UK.I would vote for Dave Delea, close second Chriss Gordon.I appreciate many fall into this category, but who's your favorite.?????????????????????????????/
OLDYELLOW Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Sprint loft = Page brothers of Pickering all rounder = Steve Sellers of Bridlington ( even if hes on the feds golden mile ) Distance = Brian Denny of York Many great flyers these are on my doorstep near enough , but to choose one from the whole UK impossible
breakaway Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 A MAN NEAR DURHAM fly,s a small team but does,nt court publicity or sell pigeons, and most good sprint flyers i know are mob flyers and could,n t pick a pool pigeon for their life ( throw a hundred marbles at a hole in the fence u ,ll get more through than u will throwing 10/ Y orN

PATTY BHOY Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 john mcneill ,broxburn takes a bit of beating..
jacksafc Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Quoted from breakaway A MAN NEAR DURHAM fly,s a small team but does,nt court publicity or sell pigeons, and most good sprint flyers i know are mob flyers and could,n t pick a pool pigeon for their life ( throw a hundred marbles at a hole in the fence u ,ll get more through than u will throwing 10/ Y orN If you send 100 inferior pigeons to a race you'll get the same result as if you send 10 inferor oigeons, just by sending more wont make them faster.
pigeonscout Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 If 95 amateur and 5 professional cyclist race form the top to the bottom of a steep hill to the bottom they will all finish in around the same time. If you turn them round and race them to the top of the hill them the 5 professional will be in front at the top. It is my option that numbers do count when it comes to blow homes and quality counts when they have to work.
Ulsterlofts Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Without a dout Ron Williamson over 50 X 1st Opens in the NIPA with up to and including 33,000 + birds from the 1st race till the last race old birds young birds makes no differance, when they are standing in Ireland looking for birds from France on the hardest of days you can bet Ron Williamson will be there. Pound for pound i cant see a better fancier anywhere , no matter what has been put infront of him any distance he has been to the front , no loft mangers here just a working guy who knows how to handle pigeons.
gangster Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 yes they never stood a chance gone in 2 seconds....ha ha ha
Guest LBuddle Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 I think there is diferent types of fanciers. Im only interested in National racing with the BICC and the NFC... The Best BICC fancier is **J Nicholson & son, Rochester Kent The Best NFC fancier is ** B Denny, Stensall York. Cheers, Lee Buddle...
Chris Little Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Has to be Ron Williamson, no one near him
steve d Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Wall, Lunt & Green for me, devastating results. :)
Guest Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 The 1 who does all the work himself ie no loft managers training assistants etc and still enjoys seeing his birds come home
Ian Gill Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Without a dout Ron Williamson over 50 X 1st Opens in the NIPA with up to and including 33,000 + birds from the 1st race till the last race old birds young birds makes no differance, when they are standing in Ireland looking for birds from France on the hardest of days you can bet Ron Williamson will be there. Ron has to be the most unassuming pigeon fancier on the planet ...Ive heard fanciers who have won a couple of club races blow their own trumpets like they are world stars !! Not this man he lets his pigeons do the talking!! I was the first to call him the worlds greatest fancier years ago and I still stand by that statement ...top man ,top pigeons and top bloke ...in a word "A STAR"
kelly tom Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Paul and Ian i dont think that there is a fancier on the Planet that could come near the results of Ron Williamson.
Ian Gill Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Think it would be better worded if it said where they live some great names there but lot of them dont even race against each other so until they do how you can say they are the best they are the best in a persons opinion of who they are racing against and where they are racing against Brian Ledbetter one of the best fliers i know distance wise seen some fantastic performances put over but as Lee says John Nicholson never far away Rose...we can claim Ron to be the best because he races against the best fanciers in the UK ..The Northern Irish ;D ;D ;D ;D
Guest chrisss Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 depends on what distance you are talking about, the "jocks" and the irish racing from france all deserve respect, but if you held a gun to my head and it was based on the last say 20 years then i would say eric cannon,or geoff kirkland, there must be at least 12/15 that everyone would say are "up there"
DeDarren Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Paul and Ian i dont think that there is a fancier on the Planet that could come near the results of Ron Williamson. Agreed. If Ron was Dutch or Belgian, we would be talking about him in Jos Thoné terms.
jock3 Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 its got to be john proctor from fife , small team with big results , and a nice guy
gangster Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Rose...we can claim Ron to be the best because he races against the best fanciers in the UK ..The Northern Irish ;D ;D ;D ;D ...PLEASE BE CORRECTED IAN AGAINST THE BEST OF IRISH ..... :P :P
pigeonscout Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 How can anyone say who is the best flyer when loft locations plays such a big part in the results. Move some of the top flyers 20 mile east or west of where they live now and you may never here of them again.
