Guest IB Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 I've wintered mine on breeders, with added barley, rice and hormoform. As pairing-up time got nearer (this month) I gradually reduced these, and now feed breeders only. When the youngsters hatch, I'll start hormoform again.
Guest WINGS 04 Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 i feed 20% maples and 80% wheat up until they lay and hatch then i feed 1/3 maples 2/3 wheat increasing the maples as the ybs get bigger i was told that they can't get maples where are you getting them from as i would like to get them

Guest IB Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 I'd put up a post few years back asking on advice how to store Hormoform, tried it in a tin, and tupperware and basically dried out. Have found that with 5kg bag its best kept in the original bag, top rolled down and fastened with a crocodile clip. Now retains its moisture OK.
