I though it was one of the best things that we had in East and Central Scotland it was a mini national but with the guys of the organisation did not like it after a few races the guys in the west side of the amalgimation did not like it as the guys in the East side of the organisation were winning.  I thought it was a great idea as there were thousands of pigeons coming up the road together.

there was a lot of  east boys in granted  but it was also known that   the west  birds  flew the furthest  i had seen it Manny times in  the national that birds timed in at  3-30 in the east  and the first bird to the west was  6-30 7-30  thats why i would like to fly from Ireland  with the predominately west winds   a blow home race is  assured most weeks   and the east boys getting the over fly time in to distance  with that  any takers  in the east, for such a race  no ones got an advantage there  the  doo has to decide  when to leave Ireland cant be fairer than that,  get about 80- 397 mile races and if you wanted  further  go to   north  west France  ;D

i think its the best way  for  racing  you will certainly  need to be on your toes  as the velocity's would be in the 2000 + every week and fair racing for every one  less hawks  on the water front and flying to fast at the home end to be caught the Irish  fly it with  head winds we would have tail winds most weeks  :)

it was a great idea not sure why it folded. probably the feds involved couldnt agree with each other. surprise surprise

correct

best racing we had with birdages in excess of 10,000 in some races, we were fortuante to win maidstone in 2001 with 9144 birds competeing.

I would't mind trying racing from Ireland in a West wind save losing them in a cold East but with my luck they would come back with a "Yankee" accent

to race from Ireland would  be the fairest   race that we could have,  as the birds  have to decide  to leave the isle

not like  the races we have, where  the side of the mountain

decides the out come, as you all know  the birds don't go over the top of them, they say  you can get up to 400 mile races from there, less hawks  easy access, ferry cost minimum, the amalgamated birdage  to offset costs  faster racing ideal if you want further fly west cost France  or boat liberation  overfly as  time and distance no side  advantage

its either  tail  wind or head wind,  the birds have time to sort them selves out coming  from the sea  and have no obstructions in the way  10,000 birds  sorting them self out,  and racing home :)

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing? We used to have a joint liberation with Federations north of the Forth, but a motion was put forward to the North West Fed AGM to pull out, and it was accepted.

The reason for pull-out was simply that it was felt at the time too many birds from Central area were ending up in the North area, particularly YBs.
